The Recovery

A Rosy Picture ...

Cliché as it sounds . Everything went perfectly normal for Maya till the year 2018 and to be more specific during the month of June everything became rather "rocky" for her .

However let me elaborate more on what a rosy time she had before that and the only sort "trouble" for her was ...... simply problems like dating or even the fact that your teacher would torture you simply because you didn't do your homework...

Maya's typical day started . Where she would walk to school from home ( it was only a few blocks away so she was able to ) . She would be on her phone reading some fan fiction on Game of Thrones that Noah had sent to her the previous night . As she walked she pictured herself in the mystical lands of Winterfell experiencing the snow all over her black hair . The contrast of the white and intricate snow flakes and her black hair created a certain spark in her . She smiled while staring at the screen of her phone when Lily came running towards her .

"Mayaaaaaaa .... you won't believe what just happened " said Lily in the most enthusiastic tone possible .

" What now ?" replied Maya feeling utterly annoyed that someone had to disrupt her day dreaming .

" Skye .... she ... she ... has a boyfriend !!! " Lily exclaimed .

Before Maya could even utter a single word . Lily bolted away from her towards school like a bullet . She clearly knew where Lily was off to, to talk to Josh . After confronting Lily of her feelings towards Josh , Lily had been rather uneasy every time Maya was around Josh . Then she smiled at her own thoughts , sighed and got back to reading off her phone . Yet again she was interrupted , this time by Sam . He asked her whether she heard the news and she nodded with a sly grin on her face .

" Well , news travels fast " said Sam in such a sarcastic tone . It got Maya laughing .
She replied , " What can I say , Maya does know everything " . She then realized that she just referred to herself in third person . Sam smiled at her and the two of them chatted along the scenic path to school .

They entered school right on time . And hoped  to catch a glimpse of  Skye's new beau . Sam seemed to have spotted them first and he stood there in front of them stock still . Maya walked towards him and she stood in-front of them . Skye was dating JOSH MILLER , Lily's best friend . Maya and Sam looked at each in sync and they both knew the other was thinking . DRAMA . Since nobody but Maya knew that Lily had a crush on him , she knew for a evident fact that things would get ugly .

Then with the whiff of the school bell . The halls were empty and the teenagers had left for their lessons .

First period was Biology that day and as she entered the class there was note left for her . As she was about to throw it , Noah ( the one with an obsession over Game Of Thrones ) grabbed her hand and said
" Maya at least do the person a favor and read the note "
Maya yelled at Noah , " if you are so interested you read it !"
Noah nodded and read it out loud for the class to hear , " Dear Maya , it's me Josh here , I want to talk to you about something, it's not about me , Lily or Skye , it's about YOU . Please meet me near the old , oak tree today after school . "
Noah paused , " What about Skye ? Why would he care ? " he asked Maya .
Maya replied " didn't you know ? They are dating now ? "
Noah had a face of utter disappointment and dissatisfaction. Maybe he liked Skye ? She did not know . She pulled the note from Noah's hand and put it in her pocked and sat on her chair .
The day flew by faster than expected . As soon as school was out for the day she walked towards the old , oak tree listening to some music on her phone , she was listening to " L.A Devotee " by Panic ! At the Disco . Josh was already there . He walked up to her and he pulled her earphones and said " Maya sit down , this may take a while " .
She knew for a fact that Josh had nothing to say about her and it was only going to be another counseling session and her giving him relationship advise . And she was right he started by explaining to her his problems and asked her how to solve it . She sat there listening to his every word , when they spotted Skye and Lily walking out of school after choir practice . Josh then without a single bolted behind the tree and told Maya to go and in the hope that they would continue their conversation. Maya grinned and walked away .

She caught up to them and they chatted about the oddest things possible . Maya felt that Lily was trying  desperately hard to keep her spirits up despite the fact that all Skye could talk about was how she felt unsure about dating Josh . Skye had not dated anyone before and she felt that she made a mistake . Lily assured her by simply stating the mere facts as to how she felt that her best friend was the perfect boy friend . Which was when Skye realized , and asked her while Maya was listening and nodding to most of what was said ,
" Lily , you have a crush on Josh don't you ? "
Lily didn't say a word but turned bright red in the face and ran away from the them before Skye could fire more questions at her.
Skye turned red with embarrassment and left . Maya stood there on the street alone .

She sighed . She took her phone out and played " Exhale " by Sabrina Carpenter , while she continued to read her fan fiction . She then walked home . And tried to not think of anything that had happened . And if you noticed well enough , she remained silent throughout most of it . She simply did not get involved or at least she tried not to. She hoped that the mess would not become messier than it already was . She evidently jinx all possibilities of that happening as  things only got worse , for her .

This was five months prior to her dark time and this was simply the brighter side of things for her . Things turned from light to dark later on and Maya could not deal with it .
