the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has proposed a ruling that would apply to women who race in track events ranging from 400 metres up to the mile.

under the ruling, female athletes with naturally high testosterone levels would have to race against men, or change events unless they take medication to reduce their hormone levels.

South African Olympic gold medalist Caster Semenya lost an appeal Wednesday in athletics' highest court, which ruled that restricting testosterone levels in runners with "differences of sex development" is discriminatory but SHOULD BE DONE ANYWAY.

the policy will now come into effect May 8. Caster has 30 days to file an appeal with the Swiss Federal Tribunal and try to reverse the ruling.

i've spent my childhood watching Caster break records, win Olympic medals and make South African history. to see this happen to her is devastating.

please, if this makes you as angry as it makes me - sign.
