Bella P.O.V.

I didn't told Edward or anyone else what had happened with James.... But happened again.... I always felt strange, but I never could figure out how to control it. The next time it happened was at my birthday party. I was trying to open my presents and I got a paper cut on my finger. It was my fault, really, I was never very careful with anything and I've always been accident prone. But, when that first drop of my blood hit the carpeted floor, I saw the look in Jasper's eyes. He tried to fight it, but I recognized the hunger. The same hunger James had had in his eyes when we were in the ballet studio, when he bit me.... I felt all that panic and fear wash over me again and then, suddenly, everything moved so slow, even the vampires were moving like snails. I saw Edward 's arm stretch towards me as he went to move between Jasper (who was heading in my direction) and myself. I thrust my arms in front of me for protection, and just like that the heat that had once again accumulated in my hands blasted outward in that same bright light. It struck Jasper, knocking him through the glass door, struck Edward, throwing him into the stairs, but this time I stayed in place for some reason. The blast resembled the wide blast from my dream this time though, and I didn't notice it's effects until I looked up, dropping my arms. The Cullens stared at me. Jasper got to his feet, but seemed to still be to stunned to be thirsty. Edward got to his feet and stared concern and confusion mixing together in his eyes. I looked around at them, seeing... fear.

"I...I'm sorry..." I said.

"Bella?" Alice said uncertain. "What.... was that?"

"I-I don't know... exactly, um..." I couldn't form my words, I was to freaked out and confused. I looked back at Edward, and he had a small crack in his face, just like had been in James's. It wasn't nearly as large, but the realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I had put it there... Edward came towards me at vampire speed and reached for my hands, but i yanked away before he could grab them, shouting "NO!" He looked hurt.

"Bella..." he said, sounding broken.

"No.. Don't touch me," I said.

"Bella," Jasper said, strained. My head snapped up to him. "I'm so sorry... We won't hurt you, I promise."

"Jasper's right," Edward agreed.

"I know, I said,' looking at him.

"Then why are you so scared, still?" Jasper asked, but my eyes stayed on Edward... On that crack...

"Because I might hurt you..." I looked over at Jasper again.

"Jasper, I need you to calm me down before I hurt one of you again."

"Bella," Esme said, "You can't-"

"Clearly I can," I snapped. I felt my hands heat up again and they began to spark. I jumped back, as well did Alice, Rosalie, and Esme. "Jasper," I forced through gritted teeth. "Now please!" Suddenly, I felt calmness and tranquility wash all over me and I hit my knees, going down. It was like, emotionally and mentally I was fine, but physically something had drained everything I had right out of me. If I couldn't even be around them without them hurting me or me hurting them, what hope was there for Edward and I? Then something caught my eye and I began to laugh.

"What is it?" Edward asked. He was now by my side, crouched with me, and his eyes were on me, worried. I laughed through the tears, I hadn't even noticed were falling.

"My finger," I said. "It's not cut anymore." And with that I gave into my tears, falling against Edward for support.

I stayed home for a couple days after that, but then when I finally had gained my composure to go on Friday, none of the Cullens had shown up. Not Edward, not Alice, no one. I called the hospital on lunch, and they said Dr. Cullen had transferred to another hospital somewhere out of state, but no one could tell me where. By the time the day was over and I was driving home, I was panicking, trying to find out where they were, while also trying not to blow up my truck with whatever the hell this light coming out of my hands - which were so hot, I was surprised my steering wheel wasn't melting - was. As I pulled into my driveway, I saw Edward standing there, waiting for me, his face was as smooth as it was before the party and that helped a little. I hopped out of the truck and walked over to him, keeping my hands in fists at my sides.

"Where were you?" I demanded.

"I could ask you the same thing," he said in a monotone voice, barely looking at me. "You've missed two days."

"I didn't want to hurt anyone... But I'm fine now, so-"

"Are you?" There was a short silence.

"Well I was... Until I couldn't find you anywhere... Now I'm-"

"Let me guess, fine, right?" his voice seemed to be getting colder and colder by the second.

"Yes." I said, perhaps to hard, "I'm fine.

"Prove it."

"What?"

"Prove it," he repeated, making it in front of me at vampire speed. He reached for my hand, saying, "Prove it by giving me your hand." But I jerked my fist away, so he wouldn't touch it. He sighed, adding, "That's what I thought."

"Edward-" I tried

"Come take a walk with me, Bella." He insisted, cutting me off, but before I could speak, he was already walking down the trail into the treeline of the woods. I followed him. We walked in silence for a a little bit, until he stopped and turned around, squaring his shoulders and looking away from me, his voice was still a strange mixture of cool sharpness and monotone flatness.

"What is it, Edward?" I asked when he delayed.

"Bella we're leaving. My family and I, we can't be here anymore."

"Wait right now? I don't understand, I thought you wanted us to wait until after graduation... And what am I going to tell Charlie, I-" He cut me off again.

"You're not coming Bella."

"But you said we-"

"As in my family and myself... Not you." I was losing control.... I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"I don't get it... You said you loved me..."

"And I thought I did," he said, turning away from me. "But it's come to my own realization that you were never more than a distraction... and now you've turned out to be a dangerous one... I can't be around you if you're gonna kill me watching a scary movie."

"Edward, please, I can't live without you... Please..."

"You're a liability I can't afford to have. You're curse is too powerful and too conspicuous."

"I can learn to control it Edward."I had made the mistake of using my hands to speak,  and as if whatever it was was trying to prove me wrong, at that exact moment, I waved my hand out to the side and a blast of the same white light shot out from my palm, hitting a tree, and vaporizing it. Edward's attention turned to the tree just as mine did, but when I looked at him, tears filling my eyes, he turned away again.

"Yeah, sure," he said sarcastically, "You're doing great with that."

"Please, just-"

"Goodbye Bella," he said. And then was gone. I hit my knees again, but this time a blast of the light shot out from around my entire body, vaporizing any trees circling me.... I was alone... Any hope I'd had for my future had left with the Cullens.... I curled up, and blacked out....
