It's Time

The day of battle was fast approaching. Edward and I set up a camp site on a mountain so we would be far from the newborn army. We didn't want them to catch my scent. My sickness had come and gone all day, and we still were unsure what was causing it. I used my magic to start a fire as it began growing darker and colder out. Edward came up and sat next to me but didn't touch me.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Bella, you're already shivering, my cold skin won't help." He had a point. The night was horrible. I tried using my magic to cast a some sort of dome around the tent to keep the weather out, but I kept having to rush outside to puke, so it didn't help much. Edward sat as far away from me as possible in the tent so as not to touch me and make me any colder. Eventually, I was able to fall asleep.

My dream was so surreal I wondered if it was a dream or some sort of parallel dimension. In the dream I woke in the tent to warmth. Edward was nowhere to be found. Stripping my three blankets and my jacket, I stepped out of the tent. Sunlight glinted bright and warm and there was  no snow anywhere, as if the storm hadn't even happened. I heard crying. A baby crying. The sound echoed all around me, once again, sounding as if I was underwater. I turned around and saw a baby lying on a tree-stump wrapped in a blanket, but when I got closer, I noticed it wasn't one baby... There were two. They cried until they saw me. One had eyes of wonderful emerald, and the other's eyes were a deep chocolate brown. Suddenly they started wailing again and looking behind me. Two wolves stepped forward on either side of the babies snarling at something in the same direction. I spun around and I saw then. A line of hundreds of red-eyed vampires sparkling in the light. They wore thick black cloaks. I put up my hand to use magic. I felt a strong desire to protect the children. But when I held my hand up, it sparkled. I looked to my right and suddenly there was a mirror. I stared at my reflection in awe. My form was perfect. My skin was a paler white than it had ever been and glinted like diamonds in the sunlight. Then I noticed that my eyes too were blood-red. The wolves lunged, only instead of attacking the other vampires, they lunged... At me.

I woke to Edward's cool hand on my arm, causing a shiver to go down my already freezing spine.

"Bella," he said. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, why?" I asked confused and tired.

"You were whimpering  in your sleep. I thought you might have been having a nightmare of some kind." I shook my head.

"Just a weird dream." I stepped out of the tent and stretched, waving my hand at our fire pit from last night, setting it ablaze. I needed warmth. Edward came out and wrapped his arms around me. I turned and looked at him. "What time is it?" Before he could answer we heard a wolf's howl.

"Time for the battle." Edward said, and I waved my hand in the air. Suddenly there was a small round image of the clearing where the Cullens and my parents stood waiting for the newborns. We tensed in anticipation.
