I'm strong, tough and brave.
I'm always in the right.
I'll never shy away;
I run towards the fight.
I never sleep or rest;
There's too much to be done.
Walls that need to be built,
Battles to be won.
Do you need protection?
I'll fight for you 'til I'm dead.
I'll give you peace and safety,
The childhood I never had.
Oh, you want to hurt me?
I'd like to see you try.
I've had on this armor
Since before you were alive.
People say I'm mean and distant.
I don't understand why.
I just do what has to be done
In order to survive.
Nothing in heaven or hell can scare me.
I am my own hideaway.
If you get too close or to stop me
Then get out of my way.
I don't need your help or sympathy.
I work best on my own.
I choose to push others away.
So why do I feel so alone?
I'm strong, tough, and brave,
But I'm terrified of rejection.
Maybe one day I'll be brave enough
To finally let you in.
