Chap. 17 : Good and Bad Decisions

Kimlip POV

I woke up, the sun blinding me temporarily... I didn't recognize the room at first but when the events of the previous days hits me I immediately wanted to go back to sleep in hope that all this was a dream...

I felt Jinsoul tightened her grip on me and I smiled when she just snuggled closer to me ...

Slowly she began to wakes, taking notice on me who was just letting my fingers caress her hair...

I knew she was awake but like me she just wanted to go back to sleep...

-"Lippie ... I'm sorry." She mumbled something almost inaudible ...

-"Hey, why..?" I said worried

-"I haven't told you something... I spent all the night wondering if I made a good choice..." she said not letting me take a look at her face...

-"Jinsoul, look at me." I demand softly...

She haven't moved and I got even more confused and worried...

-"Baby... everything is alright, look at me." I said once again

I lied, nothing's alright but let's just think it is for now...

She knew I lied ... we're all in the same boat.

She reacted this time, moving a little for me to see her face... she has big dark circles under her eyes showing how much she sleep these past days ... that is to say not much

-"Tell me .." I asked her...

-"Hyunjin told me something yesterday... " she began not willing to look at me in the eyes... preferring looking at the white blanket

-"Today we have to make a choice... whatever you choose you'll lose two... " she continued...

I really start to get worried about this...

After a moment of silence I asked her to continue which she did...

-"We can only save one... Cally and her clan... Heejin and Hyejoo ..." she trailed off

Just like that the choice was hard... I could already feel my heart clenching at this ...

so one of the two will die and I can't do anything about it...

She didn't say the last one... she looked frantically at everything except me...

-"Jinsoul " I called out, preparing myself for the worst...

She finally looked straight at me, taking a deep breath...

What she said next made the world stop, I couldn't believe this... My heart nearly broke.

-"Or Yerim."

Yerim POV

It was already the end of classes by now... I stayed on the rooftop ... I haven't moved since I avoided the cops.

I'm practically dead... My memories recovered slightly.

Slowly I remember my childhood, Hyunjin...

So she really is my sister after all... I smiled at the thought.

But also nights where I should be asleep...

Seeing all the persons I killed and my deep connection with Cally

Although those are still blurry...
