(AN: I wrote this with the second episode of the anime in mind, tbh. Because even as a huge fan of Katsuki, chapter 1/episode 1&2 Katsuki is my least favorite part of his character. Thankful that he's getting better and growing up. That's character development, my friends.)

You didn't know what it was that caused all the animosity between Izuku and Katsuki, but when you started dating the explosive blond boy, you wanted to help the two become friends again. You three had been so close when you were little, but after Katsuki developed his Quirk, and another event he refuses to tell you about, you and Izuku started to drift from him. While Katsuki "befriended" other kids in your school, you and Izuku were together all the time, studying together and hanging out after school (it's a wonder you hadn't fallen for him honestly).

Getting to middle school, though, you started to be drawn back to Katsuki, not just because of your then developing crush on him. It started with him defending you from a group of boys that were calling you names for being Quirkless and one had attempted to use his fire Quirk before Katsuki grabbed him by the collar of his uniform, cursing them out for picking on you and making them apologize.

You had been grateful for that day and started spending more time with Katsuki (not at all neglecting Izuku though, he was your best friend after all!), and it proved to be a good thing in the end. Your relationship had just started barely a week ago, so you were still at the awkward starting phase where things were new and you'd both forget at times that you really were dating, and then you'd get yelled at by a faculty member for holding hands or stealing small kisses, which would always make you blush and Katsuki get angry.

Izuku wasn't sure where he fit into all this, but he was glad for the two of you. It was weird to think his childhood friends were dating, but when he saw how happy you were, and the way you seemed to quell Katsuki's rage and anger at times, he was happy.

Although, Katsuki was still very much against Izuku. You had left your classroom to fill your water before walking home with Katsuki, but what you heard when you came back angered you and made you rethink your relationship and feelings for the ash-blond.

"You know if you wanna be a hero that badly, there might be another way. Just pray you'll be born with a Quirk in your next life...and take a swan dive off the roof!"

You threw open the classroom door after hearing that, making the four boys jump and the glare you sent towards Katsuki made his eyes widen and he couldn't believe it.

He wasn't serious but...but you'd heard him say that.

To your best friend. Even if he had meant it as a joke, suicide was never something to joke about, it just came out before he could really think. And knowing you'd heard it made him regret ever letting the words come out of his mouth.

"(Y/N)—"

Katsuki tries to grab your shoulder but you push his arm away and move to grab your stuff, putting on your bag and going over to Izuku.

"Izuku, do you wanna walk home together?"

"Y-Yeah! S-Sure!"

"Hey. (Y/N)!" Katsuki tries to make you pay attention to him, but you just ignore him, grabbing Izuku's wrist and pulling him out of the classroom with you. You didn't stop even once while Katsuki yelled for you to wait so he could explain, and Izuku tried to get you to do the same, but to no avail.

You really wondered if Katsuki was worthy of your feelings at this point.

"...that's enough, give it back."
