Legend of Zelda Reviews
Review: Twilight Princess
Twilight Princess is a amazing game, the first one I ever played. The game was originally for the game cube but is now available on the game cube and the Wii console. In this review I'll be going over the story plot, graphics, difficulty and my over all ratings.
The story plots rather interesting, it starts off with Rusl speaking to Link about the Twilight. As you progress into the game you're launched into the action shortly after a few side quests. You get to learn how to use a sword at the very beginning and shortly after ONE more side quest, you go through yet another before finally you begin the actual game.
Once Link is rendered unconscious and he touches the twilight, he shifts into a wolf. Now, I'm not going to spoil anything else but lets say there's a imp.
Now, I love the story line plot. Nintendo did a wonderful job of making it original. There are some instant similarities to the other games though. For an example, you instantly learn and know how to use a sword, you always seem to be in some sort of village in the games, it's classic. And you always have to go and learn how to use your sword and such.
Any who, the whole plot is rather engrossing and once you begin playing you wont want to put the Wii remote and nun chuck down, or if you have your game cube, your game cube controller wont be put down.
Now onto the graphics - I absolutely love them, they did a amazing job, as they always do on their Zelda games with the appearance. Now... I'm not saying I'm obsessed with how it looks though.
There are some MAJOR flaws in how some of the things look, at the beginning where Ilia is walking on the sand. I'm sorry but that looked awful to me, I know I'm sounding a bit obsessed but I can't get it out of my head, it didn't exactly look realistic and I think they could have at least done a better job on it.
With this said, I also have something with some of the other graphics, during part of the game when you're in the twilight there's a area where you must break windows and you must break roofs of some houses. I don't like how the windows looked when they were broken and I don't like how the patches which hint where you need to jump through looked. They just didn't look that good.
Now, I have two more complaints. Every time there's a fire.. It doesn't exactly look realistic, I understand the game was made in 2006, but I honestly think they could've done better on the fire.
My last complaint is with the clothing, the ordon and villager clothing to be exact. I just don't like the colors and the patterns on the clothing, on the other hand, I love the clothing on Midna (End of the game), Zant, Ganondorf, Link and Zelda. They look amazing, I think they could've done more details on the villagers clothing but hey. That's just me.
We'll be getting onto the difficulty of the game. I don't recommend it as a first time play, yet, I do at the same time. Due to the fact it's a older game it holds multiple differences from the more current games and you'll see major differences.
The difficulty is also much harder than the other games, I played Twilight Princess first and I don't recommend it. The story line will be slightly confusing and the puzzles may seem a bit more challenging if you play it first though.
The bosses, also. Are rather difficult for beginners of LoZ. I found the first mini boss to be rather frustrating and it took me maybe thirty minutes to complete, now the actual boss killed me a couple of times, so I wouldn't recommend TP as a first game. But, I do at the same time because of the amazing story line, graphics and just everything.
It seems like a good starter but it isn't at the same time, it also contains more graphic and cold scenes, it's as dark as Majora's Mask. Maybe a little darker due to the fact it contains possession, dark themes with the bosses (darker than most Zelda games) and the story line is also rather dark.
I would label the difficulty at medium, it's very hard, yet at the same time it can be one of the most joyous games you'll ever play.
So my over all ratings is it has good graphics, great plot, and the characters personalities are spot on. Midna totally seems like the kind of person they made her personality as. I would rate it 9.3 just due to how amazing it was with MY over all experience.
Now, You all can choose your own ratings but I do highly recommend the game if you haven't played it and you've played other Zelda games. If you haven't I'd recommend Skyward Sword or A link between worlds then playing Twilight Princess.
