"Riley get down here and help move some boxes!" My dad yelled from downstairs. It was a new state, new town, new start. Nebraska. It was really different from back home in California, it was cold. No palm trees and people roaming around in bathing suits. It was cold here. Snow, rain, sleet, hail, wind, nothing fun. "Riley now!" my dad yells again snapping me out of my thoughts. "I'm coming!" I yell back as I jog down the stairs. I head outside to the moving van and see my brother and dad unloading boxes. I head over to the van and start carrying the boxes to the house.

It was around noon when we all finished unloading and my dad just finished making lunch. "Brian lunch is ready!" I called up to my brother. As we sit down to lunch I take out my phone and head onto Instagram and twitter, just scrolling through aimlessly when Brian jogged down the stairs. Brian was 1 year older than me. I was 16, he was 17. It always bugged me that he was older but I eventually got used to it, even though he still teases me about it. "Riley you excited for school to start tomorrow?" Brian asks with a mouth full of sand which. "Nope not at all." I reply quickly in a voice that says 'leave me alone' but apparently he doesn't get the hint. "Why not kiddo?" He says again, ignoring the fact that I'm trying to avoid the question. "Brian shut up I'm a year younger than you don't call me kiddo." I answer him, still trying to take his mind off of the topic of school but he doesn't seem to budge. "Really Riley why?" He says, somewhat concerned now, so i decide to put my phone down and actually talk to him. "Cause its a new school, I'm coming late, its a Catholic school, the kids already all know each other, its a Catholic school, I'm a junior now and, oh yeah, its a Catholic school." I say blankly, emphasizing my enthusiasm. "Riley your gonna do great don't sweat it." My dad says entering the room and sitting down at the kitchen table that was currently surrounded by boxes. "Yea Riley you'll be fine, just don't talk to guys." Brian adds along with my dad. "Brian there's like 30 kids in the grade, and we all practically stay in one classroom everyday. Its gonna suck!" I yelled now getting frustrated that they aren't understanding. "I'll be in the same exact school Ri, if you ever need me you know I'm only a classroom away." Brian said. I really do love my brother. He's like my best friend and any time I need him he's always there. "Thanks Bri." I say "I'm gonna head up and shower and get ready for tomorrow." I add again as I stand up and wash my plate. "Yeah and I'm heading to my friends house." Brian says, somewhat talking to me and somewhat talking to my dad. "We've been here for 2 days how did you already make friends?" I say annoyed cause Brian has always been so good at making friends quickly and me, well...not so much. "He lives down the road I met him when we first got here he's in your grade, wanna come?" Brian asked me. I figure I have nothing to loose and its always good to go into school at least knowing one person so I agreed. "Sure just give me 10 minutes to get ready!" I shout as I head upstairs. Luckily, yesterday I went through all the boxes and put all my clothes in my closet, so they were already all sorted out. I throw on some black leggings from Pink and an oversized white red and blue flannel. I throw on my blue vans and touch up on my make up and I'm ready. I grab my phone, my charger and some gum and throw them in a over the shoulder bag. I head downstairs and see Brian waiting at the kitchen table. "Dad we're heading to Jack's!" Brian shouted through out the house as we walk through the door. "Is his house far?" I asked rubbing my hands together for warmth. "No it's just down the block we could walk. He might have a few other friends over that go to our school so at least you'll know people tomorrow." Brian says as we walk into Jack's driveway. His house was beautiful. It was huge. Brian knocked on the big wooden doors and I just stood there awkwardly. About 10 seconds later a tall boy with brown hair and brown eyes opens the door. He was flawless. His jawline looked like it could cut like a knife and his smile looked like it made every girl melt. "Hey bro" Brian said and they pull in to do that weird little bro hug that guys do. "Jack, this is Riley, Riley this is Jack." Brian says, kind of making it less awkward. "Hey Riley nice to meet you." Jack says and smiles that heavenly smile. "Hey" I say and smile. "Dude you didn't tell me you have such a hot sister" Jack whispers to Brian but still loud enough so that I could here. I blush and Brian chuckles. "Yeah yeah yeah I'll keep an eye on you Jack don't want you hurting my sister." Brian says laughing but you could tell he was still serious. "Well come in I'll introduce you to the guys." Jack says closing the doors behind us. Here goes nothing.
