𝐌𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤/𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 {✔}

The 4th of July🎇

It was the 4th of July and you were going to see the fireworks with you friends and family. Maverick would meet you there. Y/f/n came over and you both got ready. Your dad yelled for you and your friend to come downstairs or he would leave without you guys.

Robert:LET'S GO GIRLS!!!

Y/n:COMING DAD!

You and y/f/n rushed downstairs and left the house. The hill wasn't to far so the three of you walked. 

~At the hill~

You all sat down near the center of the hill so you would have a good spot to watch the fireworks. You sat with your dad and y/f/n and waited for the show to start, it would start in about 15 minutes. You felt your phone buzz in your pocket. You quickly pulled it out and saw a notification across the screen that read, "One new text from:Mav🔐💞🙊". You opened the message and read it.

Mav🔐💞🙊:Hey, I'll be there in a few, sorry

You sighed and turned to talk to y/f/n and your dad.

~5 minutes before the show starts~

Still no sign of Maverick....he'll come, right? He wouldn't stand me up, right? Maybe he would. You could feel your eyes sting and tears threatened to fall down at any second. Y/f/n could tell you were upset and she tried to reassure you. Your dad was with other friends not to far away, so he didn't really notice, but you were fine with that, you didn't like when your dad saw you upset.

Y/f/n:He'll be here soon, he still has 2 minutes. It'll be okay

Y/n:But what if he doesn't come

Y/f/n:I'll kick his a** then

You laughed a little, but still felt upset. The show was about to start and you heard someone yell your name. You turned around to see Maverick running towards you. He ran to you and y/f/n got up to go talk to someone.

Maverick: Y/n I'm so sorry there was just so much traffic and-

Y/n:Maverick it's okay, just next time tell me so that I don't think you stood me up

He then noticed the tears running down your face.

Maverick:Hey it's okay, I would never, now come on let's enjoy the show

You sat down on a blanket with him, your dad, and y/f/n. You watched the sky light up with color. Maverick put his arms around you and held you close to him. You smiled at him and gave him a quick kiss before watching the rest of the show. You could see his cheeks turn a light pink, even after being together for a while, you still both never failed to make each other blush. You smiled to yourself, you never wanted the moment to end. Things were just, perfect
