Okay I know I haven't posted in a little bit, but it's because I need more ideas for the story. DM me if you have any. This might be short but bear with me.

Chapter 4

My dad rushed over to me. "Two months?!" He shouted at me with concern. "I thought you would've shown some signs or at least told us. Mary, did you know about this?" My moms' name is Mary, and my dads' name is David. My mom finally spoke within this dead silence. "I-I just heard about it when Amber was sobbing in her bed." I looked up at her and my dad, and I decided I couldn't deal with this right now.

I grabbed my phone and purse and ran out the door. I jumped on my blue Yeti mountain bicycle, and cycled to my friends' house, Lavender.  She's been my friend since kindergarten, and since 2nd grade, we called each other "Lav" and "Am".  I went over all of the loose gravel on the way to her house while I heard faint screams "Amber come back! We need to talk!" I couldn't handle it anymore, and I knew Lav would understand.

I got to her yellow 80's style house. Her mom and dad, Karen and Tom, love their 80's. I parked my bike behind a 3-foot tall bush, so my parents couldn't tell I was there. I climbed and jumped over her fence. I mounted the pillar, and I climbed up just like Spiderman. I crouched and tapped the window. Lav came by and slid it open with a confused face.

"I know I should've texted you first, but I'm too stressed." I looked down at the black shingles below my feet. "Am, you know it's okay to come by anytime. I just was confused because you look more stressed than an armadillo." I laughed at that point and covered my face in my hands. "Come on in and sit on my pink beanbag. So, what did you want to talk about?" She continued.

I told her everything. About the boy, the dreams, my mom, and my dad. She looked really calm when she heard everything I told her. I was starting to wonder if she knew too.

"Am, I hate to tell you this, but I do know about what's happening." Are you reading my mind just like my mom did? "Yes, but it was to make sure if you weren't lying to me." "Lavender!" I only called her that when I was really mad. She backed away from me. "You're just like my mom! You read peoples minds just to see if they're lying. Guess what? In reality, I've always told you the truth. Oh wait, I guess you already knew that!" Lavender can feel and the heat radiating off of me.

"Fine, Am! I do it, but I only do it to protect you. My parents came from the same planet as yours did. I guess that's why we get along so well. Have you noticed that I don't have regular eyes, too? No! My eyes change color every hour from blue, green, hazel, purple, and red. Those aren't natural, Am! You can't always think about yourself. You have to think about other peoples lives, too." She was flaming with anger and sadness. She dropped to the floor sobbing and putting her hands over her face. I ran over to her, and I dropped to my knees whilst hugging her.

"Lav, I never meant to get angry at you, and I never meant to hurt you. I thought I was thinking about us, but I thought more of myself. I'm sorry Lav." She lifted her head, so it was parallel to mine. She cracked a smile and reached her arms forward for a hug. I grabbed them and brought her close. "Am, I'm sorry, too." We sat there for a couple of minutes, and we unhooked from each other.

"Hey, Lav?" I asked with curiosity. "Mhm," she answered with content. "Do you have any superpowers?"
