" Mommy, why do you have that thing on your wrist?"
"Hmm...Oh this well sit down let me tell you a story, Ann. When I was born, I had this birthmark on my wrist. My mom told me it was a sign from God that he gave me someone special. I was curious and I asked where my special person was, and my mother put her hand on my cheek and replied, "You must find him when you're ready." I whined and said I was ready to find him now. Then my mother shook her head while trying to hold back a laugh then she said, "You're far too young sweet child, when you're 18 you can find him." On my 18th birthday, I set out to find my special person. I looked all over Mexico and found him in a convenience store working at a cash register. I was checking out my groceries and he saw my birthmark and showed me his. I got so excited and I brought him home to meet my parents; we've been together ever since." My mother looked down and saw me sleeping with my head on the kitchen counter, and she yelled. "ANN wake up, I just told you the story about how me and daddy fell in love how could you sleep?"
"MOMMY! Love is so gross" I said as I squished my forehead and stuck out my tongue.
"Ann, manners." Mom said as she returned to her cooking. "Look at your wrist Ann and you will see that you too have a birthmark of half a heart. You will one day venture the world and bring home a husband."
"No, I won't boys have cooties!" I replied as I hopped off my stool and ran into my room to play. Looking back now, I laugh at my younger naive self. Mom was right, I would bring home a husband with half a heart on his wrist that matches mine. And this is the story of how me and him meet. It is way better than Mom's story.
