Mason’s POV-

“Has anyone seen Lillie?” Mason asked, just noticing she’d left. “She left like 20 minutes ago,” Ryan said. “Aw, fuck. I’m gonna go look for her.” Mason said as he handed Cameron his house keys, afraid to lose them.

As he walked around the hill, using his phone’s flashlight to guide his way, he saw Lillie’s brown hair against the grass, shielding her eyes with her hand from the bright light.

“My bad,” Mason apologized as he lay next to her. “Yeah, it’s alright. Why aren’t you with the boys?” She asked, but he could tell she wasn’t in the greatest mood. “Alright what’s wrong?” Mason asked abruptly.

Lillie took a deep breath. “Today’s just bad…” She started to say. Suddenly, she sat up and faced Mason with tears in her eyes. “Why didn’t you tell me you were leaving? Why didn’t you tell me they came here to look for houses for Ryan and Sam and you guys?” She said, trying her hardest not to sob.

Mason immediately wrapped her in his arms as she cried, not showing her he was starting to cry as well.

Lillie’s POV-

As she cried onto Mason’s shoulder, she felt his breathing get heavy.

She knew he was crying too.

“What are we gonna do? What if I have to move back to Geelong?” She asked as they both sat up, cleaning their faces. “You won’t have to move back to Geelong, I promise,” Mason said.

“You don’t know that. We both know I can’t afford that apartment on my own. And if you’re not living there I won’t let you pay rent just so I can stay,” Lillie argued. “Please, just listen to me. There’s gonna be a lot of changes in the next weeks so I need you to trust me, okay?” He said as he hugged her again.

Lillie usually hated hugs, but in moments like this, she needed them more than anything.

The two walked back up the hill to join the rest of the boys, who were still chatting, but now listening to Hans Zimmerman playing from Cameron’s android. Lillie sat next to Cameron as Mason sat in between Eric and Cameron’s other side.

They talked for a couple hours more, Lillie still feeling down, but better having talked with Mason. Exhausted from crying, she began to drift off, laying down on Cameron’s lap as he played with her hair.

Cameron’s POV-

“So is she alright?” Ryan asked, looking at Lillie’s face as she slept. Even though she was asleep, she looked sad, and Mason hated that. “No but she will be. She’ll like this, I swear,” Mason said.

“Well let’s get her back to the house. Should we wake her or just carry her?” Eric asked. “I dunno, she’s had a rough day so I’ll carry her,” Mason said, getting ready to lift her up before Ryan stopped him.

“No cunt, you’re fucked you’d drop her. Cameron you carry her, Eric you take care of Mason. I’m going home. I’ll call an uber,” Ryan said as he walked down the hill as he ordered an uber.

Mason and Eric ran down the hill, laughing and messing around as Cameron carried Lillie, who had wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face into the cradle of his neck, now sound asleep.

He had made it down the entire hill just as the Uber had pulled up. Ryan sat in the front, with Eric and Mason in the back and Cameron with sleeping Lillie in the middle. Lillie didn’t wake at all being moved other than murmuring random words, and stayed asleep resting her head on Cameron’s lap the entire ride home.

They first dropped Ryan off at his place, then took everyone else home. Cameron carried Lillie to her room where Mason changed her into her pajamas as Cameron changed into his in the restroom.

After getting ready for bed, Cameron pulled out his book as he tucked Lillie into bed, admiring her face as he sat on his bed. He was getting lost in his thought as he admired her features when he was interrupted by Eric, who walked into the room.

“She’s cute, huh?” Eric quietly said as he stood, leaning against the doorway. Cameron shushed him as they walked into the living room. “So, you figure it out yet?” he asked. “I dunno, I need to talk to her more,” Cameron said.
