Chapter III Change of Plans

I damn near smashed my alarm clock when it started beeping. I was beyond exhausted. I was in no way shape or form ready to leave my bed. I grunted as I threw the blanket off me and leaned over and turned on my lamp. If today was anything like yesterday, I'm dropping out of school. Okay, probably not but still. I still can't wrap my head around what even happened. Should I be worried? Even if people are mean to me because I won't sleep with them, it's not going to make any difference. There is no way in hell that I'm sleeping with people just to not be tormented anymore.

I groaned as I lifted up and made my way to the bathroom to get ready. I didn't realize how fast I had finished until I looked over at the clock and saw that it was only 6:15. I didn't have to leave my apartment until 6:50. It only takes me 10 minutes to walk to school. I shrug my shoulders and grab my backpack and keys and head to the door. As soon as I walked outside I noticed how dark the sky was and the big ass thunder clouds that were hovering over the city. I had already locked the door and was way too lazy to unlock it to get and umbrella and a jacket so I rolled my eyes at the sky and began my journey to the school.

About 6 minutes into the journey, not too far from the school was my favorite cafe. It was the smallest thing ever, just a few tables with chair, but it was the cutest cafe known to man, I swear. I trudged over to the counter and notice that Martha the owner was working. She was bent over behind the counter trying to find more cups.

"Good morning Martha!" She was the sweetest old lady but she was still feisty as ever. Martha straightened herself up and saw that it was me and a wide smile spread across her face.

"Good morning Claire, you're out a little early aren't you?"

I shrugged my shoulder and gave her a small smile.

"Rough night, I was up all night studying." I hoped she believed that, because it's not like I can tell her the reason why I wasn't able to get a decent amount of sleep was because of a boy who I don't even know the name of. Her head slightly tilted back as she gave a small chuckle.

"Do you want the usual, dear?" At this point, I come here enough and get the same thing, that most of the people who work here either know my name or at least what drink I want.

"You know me so well, Martha." She smiled and told me to go have a seat and that she would bring it to me shortly. I walked over to my favorite table in the cafe and took the seat. The table is beside the class window that overlooks one of the busiest streets in town. It's so interesting watching the city come to life as people head to work and school to get their day started.

I heard a ding and look down at my phone. Three new assignments added read the screen of my phone. Most teachers aren't even at school right now, so I don't understand why they find it necessary to post assignments right now but whatever. I scroll through my instagram feed as I hear footsteps coming up to my table. I really needed this coffee to get through the day, there's no way I would make it if I didn't have it. At this point I am a little happy that I got ready so fast because I just get to sit here for a bit and just enjoy the scenery. The sound of footsteps stop and I look up so I can think Martha for the coffee and grab in from her hands, I almost died right there on the spot. I couldn't tell if my heart was beating super fast or if it wasn't beating at all. Are you fucking kidding me right now. There in front of me stood the stranger. The one and only. I was absolutely speechless. Is this real life right now or am I dreaming? I lift my hands up and rub my eyes to see if that will wake me up. I look up and sure enough he's still standing there with a stupid ass grin on his face. He looked down at the table and saw the other three empty chairs. I really wish those chairs would disappear.
