I pulled the cover over my eyes, being blinded by the sun. Groaning, I rolled over, bumping into a body. Confusion ran through my mind as I didn't remember inviting anyone over. Slowly pulling the cover back, I almost squealed, seeing Toni's face.
"Holy shit.." I whispered.
I pulled the covers back, seeing our naked bodies. Silently cursing, I slipped out of bed, grabbing my clothes.
I threw on a shirt and some pants, grabbing my gun, keys, badge, and purse, then leaving. Why was I rushing out of my own house? Hell if I knew. I just couldn't be there when he woke up.
I knocked on Erin's door, hoping she answered. A few seconds later, the door cracked open as she peeked her head around the corner.
"Yeah?"
"You're not busy, are you?"
"Yeah, kinda."
"Oh, well." I pushed the door open.
"I need a shower and-"
"Hey, babe, where's my shirt?" Jay asked, walking in sight.
"Oh..Ana, hey. You know what, I think my shirt is in the room." He paused, awkwardly walking away.
"I knew it! Oh, it was a matter of time; with the sexual tension just building, I figured it would happen sooner or later."
"Why aren't you showering at your own place?"
"There were some circumstances and I had to leave."
"Do these circumstances have a name?"
"Maybe. I will not discuss it with you because I have a meeting with your shower."
After showering, I drove to the district. Last night's events flooded my mind, along with how I'd feel seeing his face.
"Hey, Trudy."
"Hey, beautiful."
"Anastasia, hey." Burgess stopped me.
"Yeah?"
"How do you get Platt to be so nice to you? She's never called anyone beautiful."
"I don't know." I put the code in, placing my hand on the scanner and walking through the gate.
"Hey, what do we got?"
"Another death. Young girl killed, everything matches the recent killings."
"I'll meet you there."
"I'll grab Jay."
"Wasn't he with you already?"
"Shh!"
Pushing her shoulder, I laughed, walking downstairs. Getting to the crime scene, I talked to the officers as they filled me in on the details.
