Sorry for the wait my excuses will be at the end of the chapter.
As it stayed silent for a bit I felt as if I'd never hear anything but then I heard birds chirping. The soft sound of the wind whistling and leaves brushing together. Then kids laughing and adults talking. I opened my eyes to see the three of us sitting on slides right next to each other in a park, but not any park Nick and I's park. I smiled wide, we go here all the time.
"Where are we?" Bri asked. She looked really confused.
"I know exactly where we are come on we gotta go to Nick's house!" I yelled as I slid down the slide then added "I know a short cut! Come on we don't have time to waste!"
They followed me into the woods. We dodged branches and hopped over the various debris in the woods. We were doing fine at avoiding the obstacles but then right next to me I heard a yelp and thud. I stopped running and looked to my side and saw Bri sitting on the ground. She was covered in dirt.
"Bri are you okay?" Cory asked. She got up and brushed herself off which didn't help since her palms were dirty.
"Yeah I guess we'll have to be a little more careful now since we can get hurt," she stated.
"Ok let's go guys!" I cheered. We started to make our way to Nick's house. The sound of water made us stop. Right in front of us was a creek.
"How are we going to get over?" Bri asked. We looked around the area how can we get over without getting wet. It wouldn't be the end of the world but there must be another way.
"There!" Bri pointed to a few rocks that scattered the creek. They went across like a it meant to be a path. We made our way over and we all stopped.
"You know what they say ladies first," I nervously nudged Bri forward. She looked at me as if I were crazy.
"I'm not doing it first you do it," she pushed me towards. We then broke out into an argument.
"Hey boneheads get your butts over here!" Cory shouted. We both looked over and just noticed that Cory had traversed this creek unscathed. Bri and I laughed awkwardly and then apologized to each other. We hopped on the rocks cautiously. Once we made it to the other side we started making our way through the woods again.
My excitement increased once I saw the end of the forest in sight. Just past the trees was the street Nick lived on. One of those houses was Nick's and as I got closer I could see three familiar kids sitting on the the front porch.
I'm sorry guys. Things have been getting increasingly tough for me and in order to get over these things it will have to get worse first. So I'm not in a really good place right now. Also procrastination has contributed. Hope you enjoyed the chapter even if it isn't good and it's super late. Have a good day or night.

FanfictionI did not come up with the original plot of the story. I just came across a really good story and when the author discontinued it I decided I finish this story off and give it the ending it deserves. Cover doesn't belong to me.
