A month have passed and despite the season, it’s the coldest time of the year for Aela; summer. Aela’s dad has recovered and has returned to their home. Like nothing happened, everything went back the way they were. To Aela’s dismay, it seems that his father remained withdrawn as he was before he got hospitalized.
During the time of her father’s hospitalization, Aela wasn’t able to see her friend Steve since she spends most of her time in the hospital with her dad.
She went to the playground several times hoping to see Steve there, but only left disappointed. Until one time she decided to stay for a while and saw Steve going towards her. Aela stands and when she’s about to wave at him; she saw Steve with the couple of friends he has when she first met him.
Aela, instead of showing herself; ran from Steve’s opposite direction. Steve notices Aela running so he ran after her.
Upon catching up, “Aela wait!” Steve said as he catches his breath
“I haven’t seen you in a month and you’re running away?” Steve continues
Aela didn’t respond to Steve and kept him facing her back..
“Uhmm by the way, I didn’t know you and mom had the same birthday” Steve reaches onto his pockets.. “Here!” Steve handed Aela an opened box of candies..
“Sorry this is the only thing I have at the moment he he, but I promise I’ll-“
Before Steve finishes what he’s about to say, Aela hits Steve’s hand which flings-off the box of candies
“Are you always this nice to everybody?”
“huh what are you talking about Aela?”
Aela once again didn’t respond however she’s trying her best not to show that she’s irritated, which she failed.
I thought we’re friends?”
“We ARE friends.. You’re my best friend.. You’re supposed to be my only-” Aela didn’t finish her sentence..
“Supposed what?”
Aela wasn’t able to continue. Steve thought about why Aela’s acting like she is. And was only able to thought about one reason..
“You’re not the only friend I have Aela.. You’re really nice and I have the best time whenever I’m with you but.. Again, I have other friends besides you.. The truth is; I want you to meet them”
“I only needed one..”
Steve’s friends approached them and asks Steve what’s going on..
“You guys wait there, I’ll catch up” said Steve
