Coming Back for You

Chapter 2: Save Me

A knife slipped through Julia's shoulder. There wasn't even any time to scream it was so quick. Barbie, noticing that her words were cut off wondered what had happened. Even though he was far back into the cave, he could still here her voice. Becoming nervous, he ran back to check on Julia.

As Barbie approached the gap he saw Jim standing over Julia with a knife in his hand and a grin on his face. He immediately jumped over the gap, just making it and pinned Jim to the ground.

"What the hell did you do to her?!" Barbie screamed in Jim's face.

"What the dome wanted me to" he answered with a smile. "And you're gonna be next"

"Oh trust me, I don't think so," Barbie whispered back. He threw Jim's head to the floor, knocking him out to buy time so he could get Julia to safety. He leaned over to check her pulse, she was barley breathing.

"Barbie'" she said with a quick breath.

"Shhh, baby it's gonna be alright I'm gonna save you. You're not leaving me now. You're gonna be fine just stay with me." He responded while taking her hand. Barbie had to save her. It would haunt him forever if he couldn't and he couldn't let that happen. Not now after everything they have been through together. He quickly picked her up and started running to the entrance of the cave. While climbing up to the surface, he caught a glimpse of Junior laying on the ground with a bloody mouth and a bruised head."I just can't catch a break in this town," he muddled to himself thinking that he would have to help him now, too.

Junior woke up slowly and stood.

"What happened?" He asked sleepily.

"Your father stabbed Her in the shoulder," Barbie remarked.

"That son of a bitch'" he mumbled back.

"Can you help? Or are do I have to save you to." Barbie commented.

"I'm good," he answered. "What do you need me to do?"

"You stay with her. I'm gonna find Sam. He was helping to get everyone out so he should still be here. He is the only one with some real medical knowledge left in this town" Barbie said. "Please make sure nothing happens to her. I'll be back in a few minutes I have a walkie if you need me."

"Alright," He replied. Barbie crawled back into the cave. He intended to kill Jim for what he did to Julia, and everyone else....But Julia was more important right now, he needed to get Sam.

As Barbie passed Jim, he still lay on the ground. He still had time before he woke up. Lord knows what he would do next if he got to the rest of the towns people. There was no time to worry about him, though.

"Sam!" Barbie shouted into the darkness. "Sam!"

"Barbie, is everything alright? Where were you? Sam said back. "Everyone is waiting for you. They want you to lead them out."

"Jim stabbed Julia in the shoulder. I knocked Him out for a while. Can you bring her to the high school? I gotta get these people out of here."

"Yeah I'll make sure she's alright I'll take Junior with me to help," Sam answered.

"I'll meet you there once everyone else is out. Please take care of her." he said running off.

"Don't worry," Sam yelled out to him.

Barbie reached the people in a matter of minutes. He told the kids and Carolyn to take groups of people and follow Melanie out of the dome. Then if they got out to meet him at the edge of the dome to make sure everyone is safe outside.

"Are you sure you don't want to come?" Joe asked.

"I have to make sure Julia is alright. Me, Julia, Sam, and Junior will meet you out there."

"Okay. Meet you at the dome," Joe said shaking Barbie's hand. They headed out with the people, and Barbie started back to the highschool to help Julia. He prayed that she was alright. She was the best thing that happened to him and he couldn't bare it without her.

Barbie walked past Jim seeing that he was still out of it. He was climbing up the ladder and heard stomping on the cave floor. He wondered back and found Jim standing ready to jump. Barbie knew he had to make a move, he couldn't let Jim get away this time. As Jim was preparing to jump, barbie ran up and threw his arm around Jim's neck. His muscles flexed as he pulled Jim back away from the gap and slammed him to the ground. A red vein popped out of Barbie's sweaty face and started throbbing. He showed no mercy for Jim. at all.

"What are you doing Barbie?" Jim struggled to say. "You know you can't kill me, I'm the leader of this town. They need me."

"Oh yeah, watch me try," Barbie replied punching him in the face. Blood poured from Jim's mouth as he smashed into the cave wall. Barbie turned him around and quickly smacked him again. Jim chuckled. "If you seriously think that you're gonna be alive when I'm finished with you, you're out of your mind," Barbie responded to his laugh. He backed away from Jim and pulled out a gun.

Jim was already shot in the shoulder today by Junior. Barbie wasn't going to shoot him, but just threaten him with it. He knew another way to kill the man that almost murdered him and the love of his life.

They both stood there quietly just looking at eachother. Barbie was panting and Jim had this "you know you're not going to kill me face" on him.

"Okay, I'll make you a deal barbie. If you let me go, I will tell the whole town what I've done to everyone and apologize for my mistakes." Barbie lowered his gun.

"Fine, go," he replied. As Jim was walking over to the gap, Barbie pushed him over it. Jim's face slowly peeled apart as he scraped the edges of the rock face. His body twisted around like pretzels as he tumbled down. Alas, he hit the sharp edges of the ravine's bottom. He went right through it and split into two pieces.

Barbie, now relieved that Jim was finally dead, walked back to the entrance. He knew that everyone was already out from the dome, but Jim didn't. He smart for a minute thinking about how he tricked Jim to jumping over then killing him. "Julia," he remembered. He bolted to the highschool to check on her.

He rushed in and found them in the room where Pauline was after Lyel stabbed her.

"Where's Jim?" Sam asked.

"Dead." Barbie and Sam both looked at eachother and nodded in relief. There was silence for that moment. "Can you save her?"
