A Cry For Help

Morning Darkness

As I try to stumble myself out of bed, I struggle. I thought I heard my alarms go off but turns out I didn't. I picked up my phone to realize it's only 4:21 a.m. and I have a big day ahead of me. I lay in bed just thinking about the big day I have set ahead of myself. I honestly have been planning this day since me and my boyfriend Tony's 6 months. We are now hitting one year today and I have planned so much for him today.

I finally fell back asleep. I didn't even have a dream, it felt like I was in darkness for a few seconds. I opened my eyes and I've seen it again, the black figure standing in my room. I sat up quickly in my bed and as I blinked, the figure was gone. I looked at the time and now it's 8 a.m. which is a perfect time to get out of bed and start getting ready.

I jumped up ready to start my day. I grabbed a pair of jeans and a light blue shirt to wear for the day and I hopped in the shower. After my shower I got ready for the day, and rushed downstairs for breakfast. There in the kitchen was my mom standing there cooking up breakfast. She was making biscuits and gravy, and it smelled so good.

"Good morning sweetie, why are you in such a rush today" my mother said to be as she stirred the gravy.
"Good morning mother, and I'm not in any rush why are you asking?"
"I heard you running down those stair, don't try and fool me"
"Well mother, it's Tony and I's one year today, and I just wanna make it perfect. I have an amazing day planned out for the both of us. I texted him and he hasn't answered me so I'm guessing he's still asleep."
"Oh honey don't worry I'm sure he'll wake up soon, now here's your plate so eat your food and do what you have to do today."
"Thank you mom for the breakfast, I love you"
"I love you too Liz, I'm going to head to work now"

She kissed me on my forehead and headed off to work. It's just my mother and I that live together. My dad died when I was 5 because he was murdered. My dad was working at the bank at the time and when the bank got robbed, the thieves killed everyone before they left with all of the money. It's was a tragic experience for my mother and I, we still miss him to this day. My mother won't move on from him and to this day is still loyal to him. After my father passed, he had really good insurance so we end up getting a lot of money and we are just saving it all up so I'm able to go to a good college.

I am now 16 years old, and I'm attending high school. I'm a junior, at Harwood High School. It's summer time and I love going outside to do random things. Today I'm wanting to take Tony down to the river front for a picnic and to sit and watch the river flow. The river front is where we met at, I was out riding my penny board and he was riding his longboard. As I was riding I fell and he ended up stopping and helping me up. Just those first look into his beautiful green eyes caught me off guard. The touch of his hand instantly sent butterflies to my stomach. Just everything from that day was perfect when I met him, and he's honestly made a huge impact on my life.

I looked at the time to realize it was 11 a.m. and I told Tony to meet me down at the river at 12. I was so excited for our 1 year. He hasn't answered any of my texts all morning though. I went to look to see if he was active on any social media. He ended up being active on Facebook and Instagram which did make me a little mad, but maybe he's just going to surprise me at the river. I tried to just keep happy thoughts through my head because today was a big day for the both of us.

I looked at the time to realize it's 11:25 and I should start to pack up my car. I went ahead and packed my penny board. I packed a blanket and all the food I made for us, even all of the snacks. I shut the trunk to my car, and there it was again. I hurried and blinked and the black figure was gone. There it was again just sitting it the backseat of my car, but with an instant blink it was gone. I just kept trying to ignore it and I hopped in my car and headed off to the river to meet Tony.
