Chapter one:

I thought i had it all figured out. I was wrong. We ran down the street our hearts were pounding just as fast as our legs were moving. We were in danger and I knew it. Only one of us had to get caught; and I wouldn't allow it to be her. I let go of her hand and immediately she stopped and turned towards me. I looked into her eyes and she knew she had to run. She caught up with the other two and by this time i was already on my knees. I felt an abrupt force on my back as I was pushed to the floor. I could only look forward as they all ran away. I was alone once more.

I sat with my back against the concrete wall for the second day running. No change in atmosphere or in situation. I was stuck here, without ever seeing her again, without her eyes, her hair, her anything that's what hurt the most. Just about to go to sleep the guard shouts my name: "Prisoner! Phone Call!" I got up, hoping that it would be her. My arm slowly reached for the phone. I grasped the phone and gently put it up to my ear and just listened. A deep voice came from the phone, "Dean."

"Yes..this is Dean. Who is this?" I replied with a faint sound of worry in my voice.

"You don't need to know that right now, but what you do need to know is that i can help you get freedom."

I hesitated slightly.."Who are you?"

"Do you want to get out or not?!" This time his voice was raised to a slight shout.

"Yes i do."

"well you will listen carefully and do as i say ok?"

"Ermm...I..I don't know...I guess so."

"I will ring back in two days. Try to stay alive until then."

My hand dropped the phone realising what I had just been proposed with. I went back over to my bed, and i just layed there. Thinking of her. Thinking of what opportunity had just been unveiled to me. A chance to see her again. To finally tell her how I feel.

The next two days dragged on, but that was to be expected. I had no idea what this man had in store for me. Every time the phone rang I was waiting for the guard to shout my name. He never did. Calling hours were nearly over. Then, the phone rang. I immediately stood up and walked towards the cell door and stood there. The guard picked up the phone. He looked at me whilst he was still on the phone. He walked over and passed me the phone. For a moment i felt relief, but immediately after i had been handed the phone i felt dread. I didn't know what this man wanted me to do. I put my ear to the phone and listened.

"Are you there, Dean?" The man said to me.

"Y..yes" I replied. You could hear the anxiety in my voice.

"Do you still want to get out of here?"

"Of course I do..but first, I want to know your name"

"Does that really matter in a ti..."

"Yes it does." I abruptly interrupted.

"Hmm...Fine. My name is Matthew"

"Fine. Alright Matthew, what do I need to do?"

"Come work for me. Now, if you agree to this you will be released tomorrow and then you will do your first contract. Do you accept?"

"Yes."

"See you tomorrow Dean."

The phone disconnected before I could say another word. Now all I had to do was wait.
