"Wait, so if I kiss you, I can have the candy?" I asked suspicious as for no other five year old would do the same. His royal blue eyes sparkled in the sun as he nodded his head vigorously.
I bit my lip and looked around the playground, checking if anyone could see us. With no one in sight I quickly swooped in and kissed his cheek, retreating as fast as I came in.
I opened my palm to retrieve the sweets but they didn't land there. I looked up. The boy had a deep frown and said, "That wasn't a kiss, a kiss is right here." he put one of his small fingers on his perfect pink lips.
My face was turning as red as a tomato. He was talking about an adult kiss that mommy and daddy share. As cute as he was I was nervous. Why would he want to kiss me when we met not even five minutes ago? Then again that milky way seemed pretty good and mommy rarely let's me have sweets. She says they'll ruin my teeth. Baloney.
Without a warning he gently cupped his hands around my face and kissed me. It was simple and sloppy but I had to admit it was the sweetest thing I've tasted.
I remember when my puppy, Checkers would lick me and stuff it was gross. I was so into it I almost didn't hear my mom calling me. "Lilly, time to go home." The boy pulled away from me and with a weird glint in his eyes he whispered huskily, "Your name is Lilly?"
My mom called my name again and I ran to her voice, not answering his question. When I was in front of my mom she smiled at me and entwined our fingers together as we walked into her nice black mini van. She buckled me in and frowned when she looked at my face. "Sweetie you okay? You seem a little red." she asked worried.
"I'm fine mommy, I just played a lot. " I semi-lied. It wasn't a complete lie since I was running around a lot before I started talking to the boy. I was a little disappointed. I lost my first kiss to a boy I was never going to see again.
The whole car ride home I replayed the kiss in my head. I was in such a hurry to not get caught, I forgot to collect my chocolate bar. When mommy pulled into the drive way and stopped the car she spun around in the drivers seat and told me, "When we get inside clean your room and look nice. Where going to have some guests over."
I groaned but quickly stopped when I saw the scowl forming on her face. I unbuckled myself and hopped out. I hated having to look nice. I had to wear long, uncomfortable dresses and my mom would curl my wavy hair to the point I looked like Goldie locks with brown hair just to impress some strangers. When I got inside I went to my room and started to clean slowly. Hopefully I would take so long my mom would forget.
Well my plan failed. I ended up having to wear this long stupid white dress and my mom pulled my hair back making the back of my head look thicker with super curls. I kinda wanted curly fries now. The curly fries were going to have to wait because the door bell rang.
My mom smoothed out her clothes and plastered a big smile on her face before opening it. "Hello! How are you?" my mom gushed as she pulled in a man and a woman in a hug. Was I going to have to hug them? "It's been so long. You haven't aged a day!" the woman greeted my mom when they stopped hugging.
"Come in, come in. Who's the cute little Guy behind you?" my mom cooed as she ushered them in. "This is our son Andy." The man took a step side ways giving me a view of who they were talking about.
To say I was shocked was an understatement. It was the same boy from the park. He gave me a toothless grin since his two front teeth were missing. "This is my little girl Lilly." my mom told them proudly as she nudged me to greet them. I waved at them shyly and hid behind my mom.
"Lilly honey, why don't you show Andy your toys as we talk huh?" she asked as she took both our hands and dragged us to my room. She walked us in and closed the door. The room was completely silent. I didn't know what to do. I was only five years old and here was the boy I didn't know up until two hours ago that stole my first kiss.
"Lilly?" Andy said as if he was going to ask a question. "Yeah?" I said questioningly like him. "Can I kiss you again? I'll give you another chocolate bar to the one I already owe you." he asked as he retrieved two chocolate bars from his back pocket.
I was a bit bewildered. I didn't expect him to want to kiss me again. I actually liked the kiss from the park and the chocolate was just a bonus so before I actually thought of it I said, "Yes."
He smiled like the sun it's self that I felt something move in my chest. He slowly pressed our lips again and if it were possible it was better then the last one. His lips were so soft against mine and the taste of oreos flooded my mouth, my legs began to wobble from beneath me.
When we pulled apart we were both gasping for air. He kissed my forehead and placed two Milky ways on the palm of my hand. At the age of five I had my first kiss.
