Jesse's POV
I pushed my dark hair out of my eyes, sitting in just a random seat, listeing to the teacher ramble on about how we're sophomores, so we should "set an example" for the freshman, even though the last group didnt do a very good job at it. i sighed a bit annoyed. I bit my lip, wishing she would just get on with it. "Im Mrs. Beck" the teacher droned, "and for today, you shall choose a seat to sit in for the rest of the year". The class came alive with a buzz of excitment and just a few groans. I decided that my seat would be fine; I was in the far left, near a window, in the middle. the last row, seat three out of five. I made a mental check, pulling out my new math notebook. I silently prayed that someone I could actually handle would sit next to me, not like a jock or some gossip-obsessed girl......
"Hey, Jesse" a voice I had memorized and avoided until now said casually. I glanced up; my guess was true. It was Caleb. I rolled my eyes, then turned slightly away, doodling in my notebook. Caleb laughed slightly, "the silent type, are we?" I side-glanced him. " no I just dont talk to jerks" I said frankly. I started to draw the head of a human, working my way to sketch the body, then the arms in the air. I drew a startled and scared expression on it's face, then drew it's hair. I looked at Caleb again, smirking.
"I'm not a jerk; you've got the wrong the wrong person." Caleb objected, sitting on my desk to stop my doodling. I glare at him, contuining to draw. I put the same shirt he has on the persons chest, then the same pants Caleb wore on the person. I move a little bit away, drawing a dinosaur. I smiled evily as I drew it's head chomping down a little on the person (caleb). "what're you drawing?" That looks like me."
"...No, it doesn't. It looks like your clone," I mumbled. He laughed a bit, grabbing my notebook. I squirmed to steal it from him, but he held it up, staring at it. he was a full three inches taller than me, with muscular but lanky arms that could stretch farther than mine. "Cute, but annoying," he sneered. I bit my tongue to keep the hurt off my face.I didn't even know why I was hurt. He was a jerk.
"Give it back!" I whisper shouted, so Mrs. Beck wouldn't look over at us. He laughed louder. A few people had turned to look, but with the loudness of everyone talking, most didn't hear.
"No way,it's a nice drawing, only--" he took my pencil, too, erasing what i guessed was him on my paper. He sarted to draw, then wagged it in my face. The drawing of himwas changed to drawing of me, but there was a worse drawing of himself hitting me in the head with a bat. I glaredat him, snatching my notebook out of his hands and tearing out the page. He smirked,"Relax, it's only a picture.."
"yeah, well, I don't take to kindly of tools ruining my work and bullying me."I snarled. He seemed a little takenaback, but I wasn't , " I'm sorry, but my desk has no room for both you and your big ego." I shoved him off, and he looked like he was going to get back on, but didn't. He only sat behind me. He sighed, resting a hand on my head and jerking it backwards so I hadto look at him, although upside-down, "you've got the wrong first impression. I'm Caleb"
I bit back a retort, only hissing, "I'm Jesse"
"Jesse Simington" Caleb added. I rolled my eyes, mumbling what he said.
"Great, now let go of my head and don't ever talk to me again," I smiled mockingly. He rolled his eyes this time, pushing me forward with such force my head hit the desk, my notebook fell off and hit the floor, both makinga load thud. the class went silent, turning to look at me; everyone started laughing. Ilooked up, holding my pained forehead. I hate Caleb Clark.
Mrs. Beck got everyone to settle down, asking me if I needed to go to the nurse. I declined politely, lying and saying that my head didn't hurt at all; I just went to get my pencil that dropped on the ground and I accidently bumped my head on the rim. Shebelieved me, and I was glad Caleb didn't say anything, only snickered.
I really, really hate Caleb Clark.
