They were making a lot of noise. The townsfolk were getting irritated, my brother was getiing irritated, I was getting mad. My hands were gripping the table, my knuckles turning white. The door opened again. I turned and looked who it was. Great. It was the next person I had to fight this weekend. My glance didn't go unnoticed because he came walking towards mine and Jace's table. The diner was growing silent as the person came closer.

"Don't do anything Jace," I warned my brother with my eyes.

The man made it to our table and looked down at me.

"Mia Night," he said loudly, "glad to meet you."

"You too, Ralph," I replied sarcastically.

"Our fight is pretty soon," he said casually. "You have such a pretty face. I hate to ruin it."

His finger slid down my face. Everybody's attention was to us now.

I sneered, "I can't say the same to you. Tell me was your face smashed in like that or were you just born that way?" I asked sarcastically, moving my face from his finger but he snatched my chin up.

"Be careful who you're talking about girl. I don't want to embarass you in front of your townsfolk now."

"You obviously don't know me Ralph. You will lose this weekend and you will be like the rest of the men I beat up. A reputation of being beat up by a 17 year old girl."

He let go of my face and turned his head before turning back and spitting in my face. My anger got the best of me. I grabbed the back of his head and smashed it on the table. I then threw him to the ground. He quickly got up and slapped me. I laughed. He took a swung at me again but I grabbed his wrist and punched him in the gut a few times. I let go of him and kicked him in the head. I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and walked him to the door of the diner and flung him out.

"See you at the fight on Saturday Ralph and I won't be going as easy as I had been tonight," I told him as he quickly got up.

I walked back into the diner. Everybody's stare was at me. I went back to the booth to get Jace.

"Sorry Pattie for the mess, I'll pay for it when I get paid this weekend," I told her.

"Nonsense sugar, you just go right on home and rest up," she told me.

I walked toward the door but someone grabbed my wrist. I looked up and saw Blake looking back at me.

"Don't touch me," I said and twisted out of his grip.

"Mia we need to talk," Blake said seriously.

"No we don't."

"Yes we do."

"No!" I snapped, "We could've talked when I called you a billion times when you were in Hollywood. We could've talked when it was my birthday. We could've talked anytime you wanted but you ignored me and changed your number. Did you even know that my parents died?" I asked him

He looked shocked.

"Of course you didn't," I replied. "You deleted me out of your life because you are so far up yourself that you didn't even notice that your best friend was hurting. You aren't the only one who has changed Blake Livingston. Stay out of my life now and I promise your temporary stay here won't be hell."

After I was finished I walked out of the diner and went to the truck where my brother was waiting.

"I need my bike," I told him.

He nodded and unlocked the bed of the truck, put the ramps on and rolled my bike down.

"I'll be back by the night of the match," I told him.

"Just be safe," he said and hugged me.

"You too," I hugged back, jumped on my bike and rode off.

I was going to my aunt's house in the town over. I go over there when life is just too hard to handle. Right now I just feel like breaking down to pieces. As I was driving my mind kept on wandering back to the memories I shared with Blake when we were kids. I remember when we first started kindergarden. A few boys were teasing me about my pigtails but Blake came and beat them up. He was my hero that day. I started laughing and riding faster. I remember the day we started middle school. I was the cute 6th grader and Blake was the skater boy of every girls dream. Our song was "Skater Boi" by Avril Lavigne. That was the best year of our life. Together forever was our motto. So much for my happy ending. My mind was going through all the happy memories Blake and I shared until I made it to my aunt's house.

I got off my bike and met my aunt on the porch.

"Jace called and said you'll be here," she said giving me a hug. "Everything is ready in your room and if you need to talk my door is always open."

"Thanks Aunt Tessa," I replied, untanging from the hug, and making my way upstairs to my room.

I opened the door to my room and changed out of my clothes and into a clean sports bra and booty shorts to wear to bed. I jumped into my bed with a book in my hands and started reading. I then grabbed the guitar from the cornor and started playing, letting all the feelings I held in into the guitar. I played until my hands were sore and I was crying. I was sobbing, letting all my emotions come out of me. I heard my door open and felt arms going around my shoulders.

"Why did you come?" I asked Jace.

"Because my baby sister needed me," he replied.

I sobbed into his shoulder and cried harder. Jace put the guitar back in its cornor and held me all night as I sobbed into his shoulder.

I woke up the next morning with my brother's arm around me and snoring by my ear. I quickly untangled myself, walked to the dresser to grab some clothes and went to the bathroom to change. I started the shower and got undressed. I jumped in and cleaned myself while singing random songs. I got out, dried myself and got dressed. I walked out of the bathroom and saw my brother getting up.

"Thank you for last night," I told him.

"You're my little sister, I'm supposed to take care of you," he replied. "Now go make me breakfast woman," he demanded jokingly.

"You really need to find yourself a girl friend."

"When the time is right kiddo."

I stuck my tongue at him at calling me kiddo.
