Aftermath

"Miss where can I find Nathan Sandoval? His being rush here due to the accident." Tanong ko sa nurse. I need to composed myself. I need to stay calm, paalala ko sa sarili ko.

"His still under operation right now ma'am." Sagot sakin nung nurse.

Dali-dali akong tumakbo pagkarinig ko sa sagot nya. But, I immediately turn my back again to face the nurse. I forgot to ask where is the operation room. Shit! Natataranta na ako.

"Sorry miss, pero saan young operation room?" Napangiti sakin yung nurse.

"You have to walk that straight path ma'am, then turn right and turn left. That will be the operation room." Sya na nangingiti pa din.

"Thank you!" I shouted a bit, dahil nag-uumpisa na akong tumakbo.

After two turns, nakita ko si Tita Margaret. I run to her and hug her tight.

"Lux, Nathans had been inside for five hours now!" Si Tita habang umiiyak.

"Don't worry Tita. Nathan is a tough man he can make it." I asured Tita.

We've been sitting and waiting for the doctor to come out for almost 10 hours. Ako at yong iba pang kamag-anak in Tita nalang yung nandito. Kinuhaan namin si Tita Margareth ng kwarto para makapag pahinga. She looks so exhausted.

Napatayo kaming lahat ng marinig naming bumukas yung operation room.

"How's my nephew doc?" Salubong ni Tito Bernard. Tito ni Nathan.

Habang kaming lahat nakatingin sa doctor. Unti-unting tinggal nung doctor yung kanyang surgical mask, para naman akong binuhusan ng malamig na tubig nang makilala ko yung doctor. I can't even utter a word.

Small world is it really. Sa dami ng hospital dito pa talaga kami unang magkikita.

"The patients is  stable now. We need to transfer him to the ICU for some test and monitoring." Nakangiti nyang paliwanag. Habang ako, eto tulala parin sa kanya. Di makapaniwalang makakasalubong ka sya agad.

Then it hit me. Napatingin sya sa gawi ko. Shock is also written in his face.

"Lynn?" He murmured and yet, I can still hear it.

Syang biglang lingon nila Tito Bernard sa akin.

Napatikhim ako bago lumapit sa kanila. I know they're staring at me. So, I have to calm myself. I have to.

"Nice to see you again Mr. Nueva!" I said then extend my hand to him. Surprisingly di ito nanginginig. Napatingin pa din ako Kay doc, and just like the old times by just looking at him even he look so confused he still accept my hand.

"Yeah, its nice to finally see you again." And its sents voltage all over my body.

Agad kong binawi yung kamay ko bago pa kami mahalata. Tito Bernards eye keep on hawking to us.

"How's Nathan doc? Bakit sobrang tagal nang surgery?" I purposely ask him to divert the attention from us. Knowing Nathans relatives, they will ask questions.

"His fine. Very much stable now. As of the operations we need to removed the blood inside his head." Sya sa pamilya ni Nathan.

Habang ako, ino-obserbahan sya. His too polite, nothing change at all. Never been imagine that we will see each other again. Not with this situations. But, I don't know why my heart seems at east knowing he reach his dream successfully. I can't felt any regrets at all.

*ring* *ring*

Napatingin sya sa phone nya. Napakunot noo and his jaw tightens.

"If you'll excuse me, I will take this call first." Sya then walk his way without glancing me.
