The sun began to set as the twinkling stars began to sparkle in the sky above. The distant echo of music increased as the doors of the pub opened and closed. The sounds of the river water splashing around below the pier soothed the soul of the fear of the darkness.
Shivering in the cold midnight wind, she stood. Looking out into the shadowed hills and the orbs of light coming from the homes across the water. The warmth of his hands around her waist gave her a feeling of safety.
She turned in his arms to face him. The flakes of gold in his luscious brown eyes sparked joy inside her. The wrinkles of his cheeks dimpled as he looked at her.
"I love you" he spoke, the rattle in his voice expressed his emotions in the words he spoke.
"I love you too" she whispered back.
It was a feeling that warmed her heart with every breath she took. It was the feeling of home.
