When Bilbo recovered, he and Gandalf go to a different part of the Hobbit's house. Where Bilbo tells Gandalf, "Sorry Gandalf. I can't sign this. You've got the wrong Hobbit." and he walks across the hall and into his bedroom.

Victoria was with Balin and Thorin and they heard the whole conversation. They were just a few doors down from where Bilbo and Gandalf were talking.

"It appears we have lost our burglar. Probably for the best. The odd's were always against us. After all what are we? Merchants. Miners. Tinkers. Toymakers. Hardly the stuff of legend." said Balin.

"There are a few warriors amongst us." said Thorin. "Old warriors." Balin answered. "I will take each and every one of these dwarves over an army from the Iron Hills. For when I called upon them, they came. Loyalty. Honor. A willing heart. I can ask no more than that." said Thorin.

"You don't have to do this. You have a choice. You've done honorably by our people. You have built a new life for us in the Blue Mountains, a life of peace and plenty. A life that is worth more than all the gold in Erebor." Balin answered.

Thorin holds up the key Gandalf gave him. "From my grandfather to my father, this has come to me. They dreamt of the day when the dwarves of Erebor would reclaim their homeland. There is no choice, Balin. Not for me." said Thorin. "Then we are with you, laddie. We will see it done." Balin said nodding.

Then the Dwarves and Victoria gather in Bilbo's living room. They all begin humming, and soon Thorin begins to sing, and the others join him,

Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away ere break of day To find our long forgotten gold The pines were roaring on the height The winds were moaning in the night The fire was red, it flaming spread The trees like torches blazed with light

After the song everyone said, "Goodnight." and left the living room.

Thorin and Victoria were the last to leave and when they were the only ones in the room Thorin approaches her, "Who are you? And why are you here?" Thorin asked her. Victoria looks at him then, "My name is Victoria. And I'm here to join your Company. I can be your Burglar if the Hobbit doesn't come." she tells him. "How can I trust you?" he asks. "You will. I promise you. You will." she said and before Thorin could ask anything else she was gone.
