After Valley fest, Cherry had invited Miguel over to meet her parents. "Do I look okay?" Miguel asked for the fourth time. Johnny drove them back to the complex so Miguel could change and to also inform his mom and grandma while Cherry ordered an Uber to take them to her house. Cherry grabbed Miguel's hand and he focused his attention on her. "Babe, you look fine. My parents don't care where you're from. In fact, my mom lived in Reseda and my dad lived about 10 minutes away from here. They'll love you, just as much as I love you."
Miguel took in a sharp breath.
"Are you -"
Cherry cut him off by kissing him.
"I'm 3,000 percent sure that they'll love you." Miguel nodded and Cherry intertwined their fingers together. "Come on. It'll be okay."
Cherry opened the door and called out for her parents. "Mom? Dad?" Footsteps were heard and they were met by her father. "Hey kiddo. Who's this?" Cherry's mom quickly walked towards the trio. "Mom, dad, this is Miguel -" "Your boyfriend that you go on and on about?" Wendy asked with a cheeky grin.
Miguel smirked down at his girlfriend while said girl blushed. "Yeah. . . This is the one." "Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Bennington." "And nice to meet you, Miguel. You have a nice, very firm grip," said Liam. Wendy had pulled Miguel into a hug, one which the teenage boy gladly returned. "Lasagna should be done soon, Cherry, want to get started on the brownies?"
Cherry nodded and Miguel offered to help.
Wendy and Liam smiled at the young couple as they walked into the kitchen. "They remind me of us," Liam spoke. Wendy hummed in agreement and kissed her husband.
Miguel followed Cherry around like a lost puppy.
"Oh my God, you're so adorable."
"I'm not adorable, I'm badass."
"Sure you are."
Cherry patted his chest and Miguel scoffed at her. "And you are?" "Oh, I'm extremely adorable. I'm a delight. But I'm more badass than you, babe." Cherry winked at him and Miguel playfully rolled his eyes. Miguel gripped Cherry's waist and lifted her off the ground. Cherry shrieked in delight and the two laughed. Miguel set her down and turned her so she was now facing him, his hands on her hips. "Have I ever told you I love you?" "Every day. But don't worry, I love you too." The two smiled at one another and Cherry leaned up, their lips meeting. Miguel deepened the kiss and Cherry wrapped her arms around her neck.
"I better not walk in there to see you guys sucking each other's faces off!"
The two immediately jumped apart and they heard Liam laugh as Wendy scolded her husband. Cherry was blushing a deep red as she rummaged through her kitchen to get ingredients to make brownies. Cherry then began to make the batter from scratch and Miguel helped her.
