Ammy P.O.V.:-
The sun finally shined on the first day of the ninth month. It shinned bright for new hopes and new dreams. I got up, still having a smile on my face. I had never woken up like this before. He was killing me. Every inch of it.
I had this one year to focus on my admission letter and Kayden had been the only distraction. One year. 365 days. 180 days of classes. And three weeks of school almost done.
I wasted no time and got dressed, had breakfast and was on my way, walking to school with Zach. Zach disappeared in the hallway with a basketball player and now I was all alone, making it through the crowded hallway.
Minutes later, I attended the weekly assembly and then headed to my other classes. I slumped down in my chair and was waiting for the class to fill. I missed Kayden sitting beside me during English hours. Time passed by and I had no idea how the morning hours went swiftly. My heart still ached to Kayden that day,
Kayden and I had only English and Biology classes together. Other than that, our schedules didn't match up except for lunch.
"Hey you," a voice squeaked behind me as I held my tray for lunch.
"Hey, Kate! How was your day?" I asked.
"Good. What about you? How's your hand? Could you show it to me please?," She made her eyes small like an innocent kid.
"Okay," I laughed and showed it to her.
"Shit! That's a long scar. You should be careful, Ammy. Now let's hurry up for lunch; I'm hungry," she groaned.
As we walked through the cafeteria doors, it felt like time stood still. I looked at my usual place and it was occupied. What the hell? Where are we gonna sit now?
I scanned the room and my eyes finally met on Kayden. He was already watching me with a comforting smile on his face. He was sitting at the popular's table, it was in the far corner of the open spaces and taken up by every member of the football team and also the cheerleaders floating around. I spotted Zach sitting opposite Kayden, saving a seat between him and Mason. This place is definitely for Kate. Now, where am I going to sit?
Kayden looked and gestured me to sit beside him. Seriously? Did he expect me to sit there? Has he lost his freaking mind?
"Looks like you two are getting along finally," Kate Laughed teasing me.
"C'mmon Kate. We just had a deal. He would be my friend and I would tutor him," I whispered, leaning closer to her ears so that no one could hear.
"Wow! Tutor him? Better start taking fees to, I just discovered yesterday that he is filthy rich," she winked.
I begin to shake as I followed Kate's footsteps and sat beside him. I couldn't believe that I was sitting here at the jock's table, especially sitting beside Kayden for lunch.
"Jinx! Remember?," I said handing him his coke can from my tray. He smiled genuinely and mouthed a thank you.
"Did you really expect me to let you sit there alone when all your friends are here?" he smirked, highlighting the word 'friends'.
"I'm not used to this. All are starting at me. I've never sat anywhere else than my usual place. So I just... I don't know," I began, and could still feel hundreds of eyes looking at me.
"You'll get used to this. Trust me," Zach said, taking a bite out of his hamburger. And I nodded, trusting his words.
Little did I know that I would actually get used to this. Sitting beside him in my English hours, cracking jokes in the hallway, talking about various topics, tutoring him after school, sitting beside him again during lunch and eating together along with my friends and the attention sharks.
