Kirishima Eijirou was always fascinated by music. That fact never changed, no matter how much he hated it at some point, and how much it frustrated him at another point. Music was his calm setting. Listening to his mother play the harp always calmed him down from his worst tantrums, and his most angering situations. It helped him think, and it distracted him enough to calm his racing heart at any time. Music was always a good distraction, and he couldn't deny how it always calmed him. He could never deny that music was a destiny he set himself for the future at a young age. He knew that he wouldn't be able to change it, because he can't lose such a passionate interest in music. And if he stopped liking his instrument, he could always decide to learn the keyboard, or the guitar, and play in some popular songs, instead of some instrumentals with mysteries as their meaning. He started learning the violin, and reading music sheets at the age of three. His mother did trial lessons first, to see if he would like lessons with a music teacher, instead of self-teaching. The lessons went well, and Kirishima went to them twice a week, for half an hour each session, and learned the violin in private lessons. This only went on for about five years, until the teacher began to become annoyed with Kirishima's continuous mistakes that were just beginner's mistakes, when he was already five years into the learning of the violin. So he quit, and his mother tried her best to teach him. At least he could read the music sheet a bit, otherwise she would have been in despair. Kirishima really liked the violin then. He didn't want to stop.
Maybe that changed a bit when he entered middle school. His classmates usually talked about rap music, pop music, rock music, metal music, but he never heard anyone talk about classical music, unless it was because of their obvious dislike for it. Kirishima was afraid of losing friends, so he refused to join the school's orchestra. He didn't like being alone. He became a bit rebellious, and declared he despised classical music to his class, in order to keep a good reputation with his friends, and listened to pop music with them, and occasionally rap, which he tried so hard not to cringe at. He declared his hatred for classical music to his parents as well, which surprised them, and worried them a bit, because he put his violin to the side, and didn't touch it until he became a first year in high school.
High school was always a change. He decided to go to a different high school than his friends, knowing that he hated rap much more and he couldn't pretend who he was. He dyed his hair to stand out, and looked back at his violin, picking it up, and on the first day, he searched for clubs with orchestras. He found the brass band first, and a few days after, he discovered the string orchestra soon after, that he immediately signed up for. The club president welcomed him with open arms, and he made friends in that club, rather than his classes. The few friends he had from those classes were distant, until the orchestra was disbanded because some of the club members not doing what they were supposed to do. Kirishima was disappointed, because he enjoyed the collective practising, but most weren't dedicated, so sadly, the club had to go. He became much closer with his classmates, and he experienced what life could be like when it wasn't suffocated with the pressure of becoming a better musician. He didn't lose his passion, and a third year told him about an orchestra music agency in a city in his home prefecture, and he couldn't pass the opportunity. He joined the orchestra when he became an adult, and was immediately accepted in the main violin roles. It was an honour, and the guy had said he was amazing, but Kirishima was still in his high school days, where music wasn't the most important. It only became important when he was practising for competitions, or for concerts to keep the agency going.
Whenever he was stuck on a piece however... he practised everyday, until he could play it smoothly. His music sheet reading hasn't improved much, so he struggled, but once he could play it, he could play it.
"Back again, Red?" asked the orchestra's conductor, Fatgum. He always helped him understand the music, and how to express it, which is very helpful, since Kirishima is always too focused on getting the notes correct at least.
