A/N this is just a chapter I wanted to include but never had a chance too, this would've happened before all of the robbery business.
"Hey, John?" Cynthia started, coming up behind him where he was sat on a chair and wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Yes, darling?" He asked, turning his head so he could kiss her lips.
"Why haven't we been on a date?" She asked.
"We have-"
"I mean a proper date. Like going somewhere fancy to eat or to go to the countryside for a picnic. That sort of thing"
"What's gotten you thinking about dates?" He asked, thinking it was strange as they've been married for a few years and she was only mentioning it now.
"We don't do anything together, you're always working and I'm busy with six kids and sometimes working at the betting shop. The only time we do have to ourselves is thirty minutes at night" she sat down on the sofa opposite her husband, her hands covering her face.
"Thia, it's longer than thirty minutes at night," he joked, causing his wife to roll her eyes.
"That's besides the point," she told him.
"Thia," John said softly, kneeling down on the floor in front of her, moving her legs apart so that he could get closer to her. "If you want to go to some posh restaurant, then we'll go. If you want a picnic, then we'll have one. You just have to ask" he said.
Cynthia chuckled softly, "I don't want to always have to ask, John. I want you to surprise me sometimes"
"Okay. I'll try" he told her, kissing her.
"Thank you" she smiled into the kiss. John's hands trailed up the inside of her skirt and she gasped lightly, "not down here, John. The kids may walk in..." She said breathily.
John stood up and scooped her up in his arms, causing her to squeal in shock, "okay" he told her, carrying her to their bedroom and locking the door behind them.

"Cynthia, wake up, darling, we've got to go" John told her quietly, shaking her awake.
"What? John, it's not even light out" Cynthia mumbled, turning away from John and snuggling into the duvet.
"Thia, come on!" John groaned, pulling the duvet off of her.
She shivered as the slight breeze from a partially open window blew over her bare body. "John!" She sat up, shivering. "What'd you do that for?"
"We've got somewhere to be" he told her seriously.
"Where are we going at this stupid hour?" Cynthia asked, going over to her wardrobe and pulling on some undergarments.
"It's a surprise" he said with a lopsided grin.
Cynthia looked unimpressed. "Why?"
"Please may you get changed, darling. I promise you'll love it" he told her, almost begging.
"Alright. Fine. Only because I love you" she said, pressing a kiss to his cheek. The pair of them finished changing, "what about the kids? Who's looking after them?"
"Their carer should be here in a few minutes," John explained, "bring a jacket," he told her before heading downstairs.
Cynthia grabbed a coat from her wardrobe and went downstairs. John was talking to the carer. Cynthia looked out of the window and realised it was still dark outside. Where were they going this early in the morning?
