Chapter 4

Lisa  P.O.V

The bus had arrived when we reached the bus stop. It was now 6 a.m. The wind was getting stronger. The snow started falling more and more. When Jungkook and Jimin got on the bus, it was my turn. I knew the steps were high. I knew there were bars to hold on to. My mind wanted to grab the bars for support, but my body wouldn't follow.My glasses started fogging up. Then my mind went blank and my vision became nothing but black darkness.

The darkness took me back to when I was 11. The worst night of my life....

Flashback
Dec. 25 2008

Lisa lived with her grandparents when she was little. Her parents had trouble with their marriage often when she was a kid. To get away from the arguments and fights, Lisa went to stay with her grandparents.

Back to the Flashback

"Lisa, honey it's time to go to bed." I remembered my grandmother saying. "B-but I want to stay up to watch Christmas movies grandmaaa." I wined. "I know sweetheart, I know. But unfortunately it's time for you to go to bed. Now come on, let's go." My grandma told me in her gentle,soft voice. She guided me upstairs and tucked me in. I fell asleep for a couple of hours, but was woken up by a loud noice downstairs. I was startled by the unexpected sound. I got out of bed and went downstairs.

"Grandma? Grandpa? What was that noice? Hello?" I kept asking and asking. No answer. And then I heard my grandma's scream. I ran to her and saw blood all over her hands. She was crying over my grandpa's body. Her cries...tore me apart.

I froze as I stepped into the kitchen and saw my grandpa dead, my grandma covered in blood, and a man, in black, standing next to them with a gun. "G-g-grandma?" I managed to say. "Lisa.." Grandma replied turning around. I could see the horror and fear in her eyes. I couldn't speak. I just stood there..shaking. Scared.. I wanted to run away. I wanted to disappear. I didn't want to see this site anymore. I mind went blank.

My grandma suddenly screamed. "NO! PLEASE SHE IS JUST A CHILD!" Her scream suddenly alerted me,waking me up to this horrifying moment. My eyes widened as I saw the man pointing his gun at me. "Tsk, shut up old lady! I get to do what the hell I want! I killed that damn old ass man and now, (he smirked) I'm gonna kill your grand kid." He said with pride. "NO PLEASE! PLEASE!" My grandma said with a frightening tone in her voice. "K-KILL ME INSTEAD PLEASE!" I was shocked by her words. I didn't want her to die. But I didn't want to die either. Just then, my left eye was sliced by a kitchen knife. I fell down, cupping my hand over my eye trying to stop the bleeding. Blood kept rushing all over my hands. And then I fainted.

When I woke up, I was in the hospital. My left eye ached in pain. I felt someone grab my hand. I turned over and saw my mom in tears. "Hi baby." She said trying to force a smile on her face. "Where's grandma?" I asked with a shaky voice. She smiled and stroked my hair. "She's in a better place now, honey." I wasn't 5. I knew what "in a better place" meant. She died. Because of me. She was trying to save me.
I could never forgive myself.
And now I live with the consequences. Being completely blind. In my left eye.

End of Flashback

I suddenly came back to reality when my fall startled me. I landed on Jungkook. Somehow, it didn't feel strange. It felt like I was destined to experience this moment. His arms were wrapped around me. Holding me tight. His body heat kept me warm. It felt safe to be with him.

"Lisa are you ok?" He asked while helping me up. "Y-ya I'm fine." I replied. He led me to our seat after. My eyes were in so much pain. I squinted them, hoping that'll make the pain go away faster. All I heard was Jungkook's
voice. He was asking me if I was ok and why didn't I just grab onto the bars that were clearly there. I didn't want him to know about my condition. I didn't want him to know about my eye. Cause if he knew, he will just turn away from me. Like everyone else.

I told him I didn't see the bars. I made up a lie. Not a very good one. I was afraid that he'll walk away. I know we just met, but we have a connection like no other. I was afraid to loose him. I don't know why.

He suddenly pushed my head closer to him so I could rest on his shoulder. He hugged me and squeezed me tight. He placed his head on mine. Resting it gently, afraid it would hurt me if he didn't. "Lisa...please, tell me what happened. I know we just met, but you are my friend now. And I need to take care of my friend. So please tell me." He said in the sweetest, softest voice ever imagined. His words brought tears to my eyes. I tried to hold it back, but I couldn't. I let a tear run down my face. I wanted to tell him. I wanted to so badly. I resisted so hard. But the words just slipped out.

Jungkook P.O.V

"I'm blind, on my left eye." She said. Her voice was shaky. "I'm sorry. I just didn't see the bars. You fell because of me. We were hurt, because of m-." She said but her cries cut her off. She now had her hand cupped around her mouth. I could tell she was hurting. But at the same time I couldn't believe what she had told me. She was blind on one eye. She.....she's like me.

I turned her around to face me. I removed her hand that she placed on her mouth and took out a napkin from my backpack to wipe her tears. "Aish, don't cry. I'm here for you. I promise." I assured her while wiping away her tears. "No, you don't have to be. I don't to be a burden to you Jungkook-ah. We just met." She replied. I chuckled and shook my head. It's cute how she is worried about my feelings, but it wasn't her job to be worried about me. It was mine to be worried about her.

I pointed to my right eye. "You see this?" I asked. "Yea...that's your eye. It's pretty.." She said while still sniffing. "Wha-.. I.. Ayyy that's not what I meant Lisaaaa." I said laughing. "Sorry.." she replied with a shaky voice. "No no it's ok you don't have to cry." I told her. I then pointed to my right eye again. "Lisa I can't see through my right eye." Her reaction was priceless. Her jaw dropped a little and her eyes widened. Until she cupped her mouth with her hand and began to cry. She leaned towards me wrapping her arms around me and giving me a big bear hug. "Jungkook-ah I'm so sorry. I didn't know. Please forgive me." She said. "You did nothing wrong Lisa. It isn't your fault that you didn't know. Again we just met." I replied. We both broke into laughter.

After a quick laugh to break the dark and sad moment we just had, we both returned to normal. We should be arriving at school in 5 minutes or less. I just decided to put on my ear phones and listen to music the rest of the ride.

Suddenly, I felt Lisa's head on my shoulder. "So that means you won't leave me?" She asked. I turned to her with a confused expression on my face, only to find a pair of beautiful brown eyes gazing up at me. "Stop talking nonsense. I won't leave you." I assured her. "Good. If you do, this will probably be the weirdest interaction between two complete strangers ever." She said giggling. I just smiled. "Yea,it sure will be."

This was the longest chapter compared to the others!!

I stayed up all night working on it so hope you guys enjoyed.
I am not as satisfied as I though I would be though.
