Gabriella POV
"What?!"
I was trying to process what he said. He knew all this time about my past. How?
Zach: Yes Elle, I did hide some things from you, I admit it. This is one of it. But I need you to trust me. I am not going to hurt you but I really cant tell you more without putting you in danger. Its not the time yet. Im sorry Elle. I hope you give me a chance. To give us a chance.
Zach: I promise in time Ill tell you everything. Just know that I love you.
I nodded sadly.
Zach: I cant see you tonight. There is something important I need to do.
She sighed heavily and nodded.
My heart breaks not to be able to tell her. But I cant. Not right now.

Gabriella POV
The phone rang after I came out of Warren's room.
"Hello?"
Receptionist: Hi Ms Sanders, Im calling from the reception desk in the lobby. There are 2 detectives here to see you. Should I send them up?
"Sure. Show them up."
Detectives?
I met them at the elevator lobby.
"Hi. Im Gabriella Sanders."
Detective: Im Detection Don Hill and this is detective Charles Matthews. Can we talk somewhere private?
"Sure. May I bring in my manager as well?"
The detectives looked at each other.
"If this is about the company, I would prefer it to be in his presence."
Detective: Sure.
I showed them the conference room and went to get Warren.
"Excuse me Mr Ashton."
Zach: Elle? Is everything ok?
"Im not sure. Can you come with me?"
He stood up quickly and nodded, a concerned expression on his face.
When we reached the conference room, one of the detectives, Don, raised his eyes at Warren.
"Detectives, this is my manager, Mr Warren Ashton."
Don raised his eyebrows further at Warren.
I was puzzled but dismissed it.
Zach: What can we help you with?
D Don: We understand that Anthony Marcus worked here? So does Alex Wright?
"Yes. But Anthony resigned last week and Alex resigned about a month back."
D Don: Yes. We are aware. We are actually investigating their murder.
I gasped shock.
"Murder?"
D Matthews: They were murdered yesterday at separate locations. Since they both worked here, we wanted to get more information on them.
D Don: Also, when we traced back their phone records, we noticed that you tried to contact both of them Ms Sanders.
"Yes I did. They resigned with immediate effect without any word. Just a letter stating the resignation without reasons. I tried to contact them to discuss reasons as well as dued salaries. But no answer. "
"They are senior staff. Anthony had been with us for 15 years and Alex for 12. It is odd for them to leave just like that."
D Don: I see. Do you know how they are at work?
"No. I handle HR admin. Their work was supervised by their supervisors."
D Matthews: Can we speak to their supervisors?
Zach: Sure. We can arrange that.
"Anyway, can I ask how were they murdered?"
D Don: Shot to their head. A single shot.
I cringed.
D Don: Can we look at their attendance sheet and any documents on their work performances kept by you?
I looked to Warren who nodded.
"Sure."
D Don: Matthews, can you take a look while I ask Mr Ashton here some questions?
D Matthews nodded and I brought him to my desk.

Zach POV
D Don: Connor? What are you doing here?
Zach: I cant say Hills. Top secret.
Don Hills and me worked together in the Feds. He knew I was scouted by the intelligence agency and we parted ways as partners. He was one of the toughest detectives I know. He is hardworking and can see patterns easily. I missed working with him.
D Don: So I guess this case is part of what you are looking through?
I shrugged.
Zach: Look, I need you to tell me all the information you have but not here.
D Don: You know I cant do that Connor. This is my job on the line.
Zach: Come on Hills. We both want this solved. You know we do best together.
D Don: Ill see what I can do. Ill keep a look out on my end.
I nodded slightly at him when Gabriella and Detective Matthews entered.
D Matthews: Ive got what we need Hills.
D Don: Alright. We will be in touch if we need anything more. Thank you Mr Ashton. Ms Sanders.
We shook hands and they left.
Gabriella: What now?
"We will continue what we are doing. Nothing we can do now."
