Harper Pov.

Run.

That's all I could do. All I could think about. Running, escaping, getting away. My breath was rapid, my shoes thumping on the forest floor.
Run.

From what, and to where I didn't really know.

Lies.

I knew exactly what I was running from. I've ran from them several times before and every time it ends the same. Me getting to the maze, the sound of their rapid footsteps getting closer, and...

Darkness, that is until I open my eyes. Yep, another nightmare. I peeled the long, black, hair that was plastered to my face away, stretched arching my back and putting my hands out in front of me. And prepared for another dull day. Not that I found my studies challenging, but it was tedious and I'd rather be home sleeping.
Just a few more minutes of sleep won't hurt...

"HARPER! You were supposed to wake up James and get him ready!"

Oops.
James, my baby brother, is 6 and can't even properly dress himself. Not because there's something wrong with him, it's just been hard since Mom and Dad passed. He constantly needs supervision. I try to love him like Mom did though so he he's not missing out on attention.
My older brother Triston on the other hand...Me and him have been bashing heads ever since the incident. He's three years older than me and acts as of I'm 7 instead of seventeen. Not that I haven't given him a reason today.

"Get your ass moving before I go in there and move it for you!"

He's always been hotheaded, just like my mom. Not only does he act like her but also has her looks. Dirty, scruffy, blonde hair and hazel eyes that could pierce titanium if he glared hard enough. Although I can't be to hard on him, he does what he can. Between our parents inheritance and, him and I working, we've been able to keep up with the bills of our new shabby house. Thankfully, it was still in the same town so we can still go to our school.
I grumbled and as I walked past the kitchen the smell of cooking breakfast filled my nose. But I didn't have time to stand there and drool on my self out of hunger.
Don't give him any more reason to yell.
Another thing about Triston, he can make a meal of french toast and scrambled eggs taste like a meal fit for kings. I don't know where he got that from though, Mom could burn water and Dad never had time to cook. I guess dad could have been an amazing cook if he'd of had the time.

I guess we'll never know.

"I think I'm in love." I hummed through a mouthful of cheesy scrambled eggs. James looks up at me and grins, bits of egg and ham falling from his mouth. Triston who's leaning against the island, looks at him trying to hide his disgust. I think it's cute, then again I adore pretty much every thing that, that kid does and am constantly with him. I play with him, dress him, and feed him (by that I mean give him the food that Triston makes). Triston does the cooking and cleaning. I do the baby sitting and shopping. It's just how it's always been. Well, by always I mean since the fire almost a year ago.
Sometimes it seems like it was always this way...
My thoughts are interrupted by James tugging on the sleeve of my sweatshirt.

"Can I go watch TV now please?" He tried his best at covering up a whiny voice but failed. I looked into his dark brown eyes that were so similar to my own.

"Acually we need to get to school, we're running late as it is. No thanks to you" I said referring to the fact that he was difficult to wake up this morning. He gave me a pouty lip in response.

"Remember to grab those grocerys this evening on your way back. Or your having peanut butter sandwiches tonight." Triston pointed his fork at me accusingly.

"You say that as if I would forget, and as you know I have the memory of an elephant." I give him a wink. Trying to discreetly shove the shopping list that I had already forgotten into my pocket.

"You and I both know that's  complete bullshii-...ark, ahh that's right bullshark." He says glancing at James struggling with his shoes at the front door. I give him a look. Nice save. I've been on him for toning down the cussing in front of James. Any ways he's right, me having elephant memory is complete bullshark, I would lose my head if it weren't attached to my body.

On the way to school I couldn't help but think about my dream. I've had it quite a few times before. People with black hoods over their faces, running after me. I've been having that dream ever since the fire that killed my parents, the fire department blamed it on an oven fire. It just feels off, considering the fact that neither of my parents cooked. James, Triston, and I had just got back from the park and we were met with flames. It had obviously been burning for a while, the whole house was charred and collapsed. And in the middle of it all, I could have sworn I saw a figure in a black hood. But it must have been smoke. Now my mind just links it to that day, hence the dreams.
I relized that with all that time that I had been spacing out, we had managed to get to school already and I was pulling into the pick up line to drop off James.
"You ready?" He was being pretty quiet. He just nodded his head. "Ok, see you after school." He blew me kisses as he was shutting the door. I pretended to catch them, which caused him to smile. I love that kid so much.

???? Pov.

"Here's your targets info sheet." The trainer handed me a sheet with the personal info of our next target;

Name: Harper Elway
Hight: 5'2"
Weight: 108 lbs
Hair color: Black
Eye color: Brown
Blood type: B negative.

"How'd you get this info? And is there anything more useful." I said raising an eyebrow.

He looked at me with narrowed eyes "We have our ways and besides you know what town she's in and what school she goes to, I'm sure with your gifts and your training you can figure it out."

I saluted him. "I will try my best sir."

"Oh, I'll need better than just your best, I need you to do it right and do it quickly. Or you will suffer the consequences. Is that understood?" He hissed through his teeth.

Oh god, this guy I swear. "Yes sir." I said still saluting and just wanting to get out of this stuffy warehouse we call a base.

"Good, your mission has begun."
