Harper Pov.

"Ow, I asked you to quit doing that every time you see me!" I playfully shoved Drake's shoulder as we walked on the track during P.E.

He flicked me on the nose again in response. "Oh come on! you like it, otherwise you wouldn't be smiling." He winked at me causing me to smile even more. Truth is I did like it. I liked him. Drake has been my friend since third grade and recently I couldn't help but notice how cute he really is. His bright blue eyes, strawberry blonde hair, and athletic structure. Not to mention his amazing humor.
"Do you mind if I stop by your house for a couple of hours after school. I need to study for a little bit, because as you can tell by my grades, self studying isn't going to well."

"Of course! I'll have to drop James off at his bus for a T-ball tournament, but that won't take long, how does 4:30 sound?"

"Sounds good to me. I'll mainly need help on math and maybe history."

Me and Drake alone in my bedroom... Stop! Don't make it weird! It's not like he hasn't come over before. Just not since the accident. But I feel different about him now...

I guess he saw me thinking about it a little too long. "Are you sure it's fine?" He said giving me a look of slight concern.

"Yes, Of course. Sorry, I'm just a little tired is all."

His slightly worried expression slowly turned back into a big grin as we halted on the track. The gold specks in his blue eyes were prominent in the sun light.
He leaned in and gave me a hug that made my breath catch. "Thanks you're the best!" After a couple seconds he must of noted my hesitation and letting go he apologized. "Sorry, it just seemed like you needed it..."

I gave him a smile and side hugged him, leaning my head against him. He squeezed my shoulders against him with one of his arms.
His warmth... the smell of his cologne...his golden hair shining in the light.

Suddenly I heard giggling behind us. We both let go and turned around to find Avery, friend of mine, smiling at us. We have grown farther apart as we got older, but we still talk.

"Oh no, don't let me interrupt any thing." She said with a devious grin.

I went over to her trying to hide my blush. "There was nothing to interrupt."
Drake looked as if he were about to say something, but just then they started calling us in for the end of P.E.

The rest of the day went by in a flash. Before I knew it I was pulling up as James's bus was ready to leave for the tournament, eager to get back to the house to prepare for Drake. "Bye, love you. Have fun." I said trying not to be to impatient.

He looked at me sheepishly. "Could you walk me up to the bus?"I need to calm down.

"Yeah, of course." I took him by the hand and walked him up to the bus doors where an old crinkly-eyed bus driver smiled at him as he got on. James was then immediately flocked by kids. I couldn't help but laugh. "Bye James!" I said waving in his direction. I saw a hand fly up from the sea of kids and wave to me.

I walked back to the school parking lot smiling at the image of James surrounded by a bunch of kids excitedly babbling to him. I watched as his bus pulled away. I was still distracted by that thought when I noticed a dark figure headed my way from across the parking lot.
They were on the side of me so I assumed they were headed to the school but then we passed it. I quickened my pace. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Calm down! They're probably just parked near me. Then I looked around and relized my car was the only one over there. I didn't waist any time flinging myself into the seat and jamming my key into the admission.
I could then see the person out my window and could make out that they had a black hoodie on with the hood up. And they were running straight at me. What the hell is this guys problem!? I slammed on the gas and sped around the figure just as they got near me.
Just then as I was about to pull out of the parking lot I felt my car rock forward. I turned around just in time to see their hand bounce off my trunk. They just freaking hulk-punched my car! I was so shocked, it took me a while to realize that in my state of shock they had disappeared and I had turned out of the school qnd was driving on the quiet highway as if nothing had happened.

I was still in silent shock when I pulled into my driveway. I slowly opened the car door. I didn't even want to check if there was damage. I just wanted to get into the safety of my own home. Besides maybe if I pretend it didn't even happen maybe it will be as if it didn't. Stupid. I know.

I came into the house and checked the clock. 3:45. Just continue like normal, don't freak out. I had parked at the back of the driveway. Where the car wasn't noticeable. Out of sight out of mind, for now.

I straightened up the house a little bit. Triston probably won't get home till real late. He worked any overtime that he could and so did I. We had to keep the bills paid somehow. Ill go back out to check on the car when he gets home. Its not like I can call the police either, 'Oh I was dropping my brother off at the school, when some hooded wacko punched my car.' Yeah not happening. The house wasn't incredibly messy so it only took me a couple minutes. So I turned on the TV and lowered myself into the recliner attempting to calm myself. Then I heard the door bell ringing causing me to practically jump out of my skin. I warily made my way through the kitchen to the big wooden door. What if they followed me home? Oh stop being ridiculous! As if they could just run behind me and somehow follow me home, and here they are casually ringing my doorbell. I looked through the peephole and let out a sigh of relief when I saw Drake' s dorky face appear.
