Santa Ana California
Police station

Early morning

His sights were set on one thing and one thing only. This was obvious by the way he brushed past his colleagues, ignoring most of their words and waves which seem to slowly fade out of both tune and sight as he strode forward, nearly crashing into many others along the way and therefore getting many concerned or annoyed stares from those carrying papers or trying to get his attention. His head pulsed, the pressure which built up within it making his sight almost blur with the pain. But he couldn't pay mind to it, not now, not until he got the answer as to why he was seeing her again, why she was on such a revolting case file, and why it had been given to him. The head of police knew his relations to that woman. He knew their history,--or at least some of it--, so why in the hell would this case be given to him?

This was the only thing that rung in his head beside the building migraine which he continued to try to force into submission with no luck whatsoever, making the cool refreshing air that suddenly hit him as he entered the heads office so soothing. The opposite was said for his boss, however, who was so startled by the bursting into his office that he nearly spilled a fresh cup of boiling coffee upon himself, lucky enough to have stood and backed away fast enough to watch the coffee hit the floor instead. He sighed in both relief and frustration. He had just got the new carpet put in two days prior, not to mention the fact that it was white, so the stain most defiantly stood out even behind his desk.

"You'd better have a damn good explanation for this Lee. This was very expensive and depending on your reasoning I'm taking the cleaning money out of your paycheck!" The man growled, glaring up at his officer who he only just now looked at in that very moment, making the unstable and unhinged look and the aura he gave off scary enough to make him slowly reach over and slide both his scissors and stapler into his desk drawer. He knew what this man was capable of and wanted to make sure that even if he were to be beaten, it would not involve any possible weapons. This is the same reason why he also took his lamp and placed it carefully on the ground beside his foot.

Roman watched the mans actions with a raised eyebrow, a small smirk slipping on his face however before his eyes slowly moved to the various pens and pencils which lay on the desk beside a stack of paperwork. His suspicions of the man's thoughts were confirmed when he watched as he quickly attempted to pick all of the items up at once only to drop a few and get down on hand and knee with the intention on collecting them, but only dropping more instead. Roman may have been amused if not for the pounding of his head and the many questions which raced through his mind without a sign of leaving any time soon.

"Tell me. Why was this given to me Charles?" He finally spoke, slamming the file down onto the had oak wood desk stained red. He watched as Charles lifted up his head slowly to poke out from behind the desk then cleared his throat an stood, smoothing out the wrinkled uniform he wore and taking a deep breath as he opened the file which he froze seeing the contents of.  "As...You have told me before. You've had encounters with her...You know her best, therefore, you're the best one for this case." He kept his eyes on the contents of the file, afraid to look up. But he didn't have to.

"NO FUCKIN" SHIT SHERLOCK! Those encounters are the reason why I've moved so much! Why I had all that god damn therapy! Why I can't even go visit my own family because I'm too scared that the very woman in that picture will be there! Waiting for me...just..DAMNIT CHARLES!" He angrily pushed the file onto the floor but not before his boss could see the small tear that made a stain on the papers inside.

Slowly, the pepper-haired male slowly sat back down, scooting back up to his desk in the seat and fixing his glasses before cautiously looking up at the officer "And I am sorry for that, but it is not my fault nor will this case just suddenly disappear. News about the incident is already spreading, the public is all over the place and I already have to deal with the angry families. If you don't lead this case I'll just ask someone else. Ryler seems to never have a problem with my decisions so there."  He soon wished his last words weren't spoken as a fist slammed down on his desk "Don't you dare say that fuckin' bastards name to me again" His voice was much more soft and quieter, but alas it only made the sentence more terrifying, so, in a slow movement, Charles swiped the spit from his cheek and gulped, putting on the best assertive voice he could. "Then are you taking the case or not?"

The two men stared at one another for a while, tension high in the air before the officer scoffed, his hand coming up to run through his currently messy hair. "Fine. I'll take your damn case. But once you see what getting involved with her means...don't come running to me because I won't be here when the shit hits the fan." Pushing away from the desk he went and gathered the file once again then exited the office.

A large breath of air left the mans mouth as he leaned back in his chair, sweat now dripping from his forehead. "I swear...one day that man will give me a heart attack" Shaking his head along with his words, he picked up a picture, perfectly framed and sitting on his desk. He stared at the picture for a while, and anyone inside could see his eyes flicker from brown to the lightest of blue for but a millisecond.
