After The Snap

"Morgan, the cookies are ready!" I inform her, standing outside her tent with the plate in my hand.

"What's the password?" Her small voice sounds.

"Did I mention that I have the cookies with me?"

"Okay, come in!" She responds with. So much for trying to guess the password. She likes to change it every twenty minutes or so. But cookies were important, and I totally get it.

I unzip the front of the tent and bend down to enter it. Morgan is sitting in the corner, Tony's anniversary gift for Pepper sitting in her lap. I place the plate of cookies down on the ground before turning to zip the tent door back up and sitting across from her.

"What are you doing?" I ask, acknowledging the blue helmet in her lap.

"I found it." She smiles up at me.

I laugh, nodding. "Yeah, I steal Dad's things all the time... So, I won't tell if you won't." I grin down at her. I have to call Tony 'Dad' in front of Morgan, or else she won't know who I'm talking about.

Morgan giggles, grabbing a cookie from off the plate and stuffing it in her mouth. "Wanna play?"

I grab a cookie as well, nodding vigorously. "Heck yeah, I do."

After swallowing her cookie, Morgan places the helmet over head, standing up. "I have to save you!" She exclaims, running towards me and tackling me in a hug.

I laugh as I lean onto my back, Morgan on top of me. "Ah, save me!" I play along before I start ticking her and she can't stop squirming and giggling.

"Hey, what's with all the laughing?!" We then hear Tony's voice from outside the tent and we immediately stop talking.

"Sh..." I look down at Morgan, holding a single finger up to my lips. "Jump out and scare him on three?"

Moran laughs quietly, nodding. "One... Two..."

"Three!" I finish, unzipping the tent as Morgan jumps out at her dad. I follow close behind, taking a breath of fresh air as we finally exit the small tent.

After Tony takes off the helmet on Morgan's head, he glances into the tent. "Dessert before dinner, huh?"

"Hey... how'd those get in there?" I play dumb, winking down at Morgan so she'll play along.

"I have no idea!" She shrugs, smirking up at her dad.

"You're turning my sweet, innocent girl into an evil genius!" Tony teases me, lifting Morgan up into his arms.

"No, Daddy, were evil together!" Morgan informs him, causing Tony to laugh.

"My two evil genius'." He smiles, looking back and forth between Morgan and I.

He looked so happy...

As we were heading towards the house for dinner, a car pulls up next to it. Tony and I stop to turn and look at it. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion before Steve, Nat, and some dude I didn't know, emerge from the car. And then I'm smiling at them.

I open my mouth to respond, but Tony turns and continues walking towards the house. Here we go...

I turn again to look over at Steve Rodgers to see that he's already staring at me. "Steve..."

He smiles at me, taking a few steps forwards to get closer, "Reece, it's really good to see you... We-"

"Reece." Tony calls me over to him, cutting Steve off.
