I just knew I had to risk it... I needed to speak to her.

After lunch today I walked up to her and smiled the whole way. Coming close to her my heart raced but why? why was I nervous? I never felt this way about anyone and I'm not even asking the girl out just seeing how she's doing and maybe we could hook up sometime in the meanwhile but I was really feeling shaky about this. I tapped her shoulder after taking a glimpse of her behind. She turned around and looked from my feet before she looked up at my face. Her once hazel eyes were a now soft brown murky color, I could tell that she had been crying. I decided to get a convo going on but not before asking her what's wrong " what's up ?" I said eyeing her " nothing much" she said causally "why you crying?" I asked. She looked down at her sandals then simply shrugged her shoulders "really bri you can tell me" she looked up at me then looked away "how do you know my name I'm not sure we have met before" she said.  I was worried, what If she thinks that I have been following her around school and knows that I've been spying on her. I quickly came up with an answer and simply said "I heard one of your friends call your name on the way to lunch" I lied. "Oh" was all she said "so you gonna tell me what's wrong?" I said breaking the silence a bit before the bell rings "it's nothing I'm fine okay?" She said walking away. Dang is it that serious ?  I walked her direction and caught up with her "hey stop" I said laying a hand on her shoulder she stopped then looked back at me "what do you want..." I chuckled "sorry I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Kaelan but you can call me kae" I said " oh okay" a small smile formed to her lips, I smiled back. A few seconds later her whole mood changed. She stopped smiling and put her head down so I was blocking her. she looked like she was a afraid That someone would see her. "You alr-" I stopped talking when I heard Terence Malone's voice booming In the hallway. I looked back and saw him and his friends laughing. when they saw me looking they walked over to me. "hey babe" he said coming near Brianna "babe? Who you calling babe that's my girl" I said inside my head, you don't know how bad I would love to call bri my girl but of course she would choose star football player and popular kid in school instead of me "hey bri ill talk to you later" I said walking away. Not until I heard footsteps behind me I looked back and saw Terence walking towards me " aye man what chu talking to my girl for?" He said eyeing me up and down "nothing we was just striking up a convo" I said stepping up alittle. I didn't want to show mercy especially because there was a crowd of people forming and cause Brianna was looking too "oh you think you tough na huh" he said poking his finger into my chest. I wanted to fight this guy, I knew he was the one that caused bri to cry because rumors went around that he puts his hands on Brianna. "Nah buddy boy you think you tough?" I said pointing to his now clenched fist. I heard some laughs and snickers from the crowd which made me feel proud. I smirked to myself but the smile quickly faded when I saw and heard his flying fist connect with my jaw and I was down.
