Snarls echo through the chambers as they fought the beast. It snaps its large jaws, snapping the chain in two. The creature snaps at a man and he jumps back. Fire erupts from the creatures mouth covering the men. Screams of agony echo into silence.

The sounds of claws scraping on concreate echo as she runs down the hall. A squeal sounds ahead of her and she runs faster. She rounds the corner to see a man pulling her baby out of her nest. The baby is tiny with a human like body and a long tail and leather wings, for his scales had yet to even grow in.

He squeals in pain as he is yanked out and thrown in a sack. She snaps her jaws between the sack and his body. She bites through his flesh and bone, severing his arm from his body. His screams follow her as she escapes her home. Shots fire and she growls in pain as she takes flight.

She roars, releasing the sack in her pain. She catches it with her claws as she flies over the water. She flies on her injured wing for many hours over the open sea before she has to land on a large island. She crashes hard, curling her body around the sack in an armored casing.

She lies motionless for a moment as the sack moves on it's own. A whine can be heard from it. The dragon raises her head and gently lifts the sack off her stomach and wing to rest it on the ground beside her. She carefully raises herself off the ground accessing herself for damage.

Her wing is bent at an odd angle and sends pain through her when she tries to move it. Other than that, she is fine, just a few bruises and scrapes on her scales. She shifts quickly, whimpering at the pain. Her midnight blues scales turns to hair as her body shifts to that of a human.

Her claws form hands and feet as she stands, letting her wings shrink, despite the pain. She wipes blood out of her eye before she limps over to the sack and carefully lifts it off her child, her tail moving in anticipation. He cries as the sun hits his delicate face. His mother shields most of it with her body and wings.

She checks him for injury only to see a cut across his face, crossing over his left eye. Seeing as he has no other injuries she picks him up and starts to go deeper into the forest as the sea smooths out the sand, where she landed. She shields his tiny body with hers from the sun as she walks toward the sound of water.

She sets him in the shade of a large tree as she transforms into a full looking human. Her tail disappears as does her wings, eyes, and fangs. Her son watches the process and tries it himself. He succeeds as his mother uses her hands to bring water up to her mouth.

She walks to him and pours some in his as well. The cool water doing wonders to cool the both of them down in the hot weather. She carries him as she walks in the water down the stream. She feels she is bound to find food along the water.

She is the last of her kind, she needs her son to survive to carry on the blood line, even if he is not a fullblooded dragon. She follows the stream, finding no food but the vegetation around her she finds a small cave for the night.

They sleep on the rock as the moon rises and the sun sets. There is a sound of the animals as they sleep. The mother holds her son close in her sleep as a wolf finds their crash sight. He is unable to follow the trail as the water has washed it away. He alerts his pack of the intruders. As he looks for thier trail in the dark.

Years pass and the boy learns to control his powers. The wolf's continue to look for them. When the boy, Thanatos Dumah Tartarus, turns five the wolf's find them. He was playing in a open area, chasing a butterfly. Suddenly, arms wrapped around me.

I yelp and try to move out of the rough grip.

"Momma," I yell in dragons tongue.

I see her running toward me.

"T," she yells transforming into her dragon.

She lands behind me and I hear him speak in another language. I hear her snarl and feel comfort in her growl. A loud pop rings the air and I feel pain rip through my chest. I feel tears roll down my cheeks.

I am thrown in a cage and taken away while my mother lies dying on the forest floor.
