Alarms blazed as steel barriers clamped shut every window and possible exit. Everyone was running about frantically as I was sitting in the meeting room shocked about what was just said. "A mole in the system?" I thought "Could it be Jake? I haven't ever seen him here before today.". Gaurds were rounding everyone up inside the HQ while trying not to disturb the bank, which seemed like a difficult task. I rose from the table to go to the designated area for situations like these.
One by one names were called off of a list. "Here" I said when I was called. As soon as attendance was taken everyone was brought into a room checked for bugs or messengers asked a few questions then got sent on their way home. As I was called I got pulled aside by Mr. Jones. "I trust you enough John you can just go home." He said in a soft voice.
As I got into my car I couldn't stop thinking about having a spy in our network. The only person who really came to mind was Jake. I felt like I had known him from a previous encounter or another job. I was about halfway home when my phone rang, it was Jake. "When did he get entered into my phone?" I thought. I shrugged it off and answered the phone. "Hello?" "Hey man did you pass all of those tests?" He asked. "Uh... Yeah I did, I suppose you did to if your on the phone." There was a short pause and some muttering in the background. "Yeah uh about that.... Apparently your a suspicious contact in my phone since I have no idea how you got put into my phone.". "Well I guess that makes two of us cause I have no idea how you got onto my phone." I said. There was a slight click, as if someone had just hung up their phone. "Jake you still there?" I asked. "Yea, hey did you hear that click?", " Yea I thought it was you hanging up." I said. "I had thought the same thi-" the line went dead. Not sure what to do I put my phone away. And concentrated on driving to keep my mind off things.
I pulled into my driveway still trying to figure out why the line went dead. My phone began ringing again. I pulled it out and checked who it was. The number was blocked. "Hello?" I answered cautiously. "One two check your shoes, three four check your door" the man hung up as I dropped my phone. I had now remembered where I knew Jake from. He was my partner for tracking down Mr. Yang, the worst killer of them all. And now he was back.
