Minsoo's POV
I woke up at dawn because I can't sleep anymore. My eyes were too tired but here I am now, sitting on a chair and drinking hot choco milk.
I rubbed my hands together. It was a cold morning and I hate myself for waking up this early in the morning.
I emptied my cup and put it in the sink. I have the urge to check on the others so I did.
I walked up the stairs and the first room was Jaemin's. I smiled at myself just thinking about him. Okay, I might have a crush on him. He just looks so boyfriend.
Slowly, I opened the door and saw him sleeping. My smile disappeared. I immediately went inside, carefully closed the door and walked over to him. I accidentally let out a gasp but it wasn't enough to wake him up.
He looked so pale. His lips were almost brown and his hair was everywhere. I rushed out of his bedroom, poured water in a glass and went back with it. "Jaemin, Jaemin." I called him and tapped his cheek.
His eyes slowly opened. He looked at me sleepily. "Minsoo?" I nodded and put a hand on his arm. "Sit up." He did and I gave him the glass of water. "Drink it. You look so pale."
He gulped the water down and gave the glass back to me. He wiped his lips and inhaled and exhaled. His color slowly came back. I sighed in relief. I placed the glass on his bedside table and cupped his cheeks.
"Are you okay?" I asked. He chuckled. "Kind of? I really can't breathe last night." I wanted to ask but I don't want to pressure him yet. He just got back from his color and breathing.
"But are you feeling better now?" I asked again. He looked at me and nodded. "Yeah, now that you're here." I glared at him and pouted. He chuckled at my reaction.
"I hate you." He just smiled. Using his right hand, he cupped my left cheek.
"I love you, too."
He then pulled me into a kiss.
His lips were soft as cotton candy. It was plump and it made me forget all of the unfortunate events that was happening to us. It felt different. It was everything to me.
He pulled away and I blushed as he smiled at me. "You didn't push me away. Did you like it?" I hit his chest and he just lahghed at how I reacted.
"Shut up, Jaemin."
I stood up from his bed with the glass and looked at him. "By the way, if Hyuck wakes you up and asks where I am, I'll be in the dining room." I gave him a small smile.
He nodded. "Alright." I turned away and left Jaemin's bedroom. I covered my face as I hurried down the stairs. "What the hell was that? Oh my god." I shook my hand and placed the glass in the sink.
"He's making it hard for me," I closed my eyes and sighed. "Dammit." I went to the table and sat on my chair the rested my head on it.
Later on, the guys started pouring inside the dining room. "I really thought you were the victim." Hyuck exclaimed and ran towards me, giving me a hug. I laughed. "It's Jaemin. Did he tell you?" He broke the hug and shook his head.
They went to their seats and all heads turned to Jaemin. "So, what happened last night?" Renjun asked. "You were the one who choked me. You told me 'try to wake up'. I was trying but can't. Earlier at dawn, Minsoo checked on me and said that I was pale. Thankfully, she was there." He said and smiled at me.
Donghyuck suddenly raised his hand. "I think what's happening to us is not related to the clues we have." He said. We all jumped on our seats when black smoke appeared on the table.
"Hey," It said. Mark looked weirdly at his other self. "Your speech changed." It rolled its eyes at Mark. "You said drop the formalities."
"No, it sounds weird. Go back to yourself." It sighed. "Fine. Greetings," We all sighed in relief.
"So? Did you hear our conversation?" Jeno asked. It nodded. "I did. R and O are correct." I raised a brow. "Who is that?"
"Ruby and Onyx."
"We're Koreans and Chinese here." It face-palmed and motioned to Jisung and Hyuck. "That is what I call them. Calling them with their original names makes me cringe."
"You're one choosy smoke." Hyuck said, giving it a weird look. It shook his head. "Back to what I was saying, they are correct."
"That the incidents happening at night is not related to the clues?" It nodded. "They're somewhat bothered. Oh, I dropped a clue."
"Bothered?" I whispered to myself, testing the word on my tongue. "And the only night that has the most confusing clue is Emerald's."
"And that is?" It pointed at Chenle. "Him." Jeno's eyebrows creased. "'Bury a friend'?" The other Mark nodded. "It's confusing, I know, but you'll need that by the time you will discover it. Oh, and Ruby's second night would be important as well."
"Can you tell us?"
"No, I cannot. But you can watch out for it and examine the upcoming night like the clues. Please hurry up, I cannot take this stress anymore." It said and massaged its forehead.
"You get stressed?" Hyuck asked. "Of course, Onyx. We-" It stopped. "I am not supposed to say it, or else they'll find out that I'm helping you."
"Thank you," I said, making them all look at me. "For helping us even though you know it's risky." It chuckled. "Human, I am not helping you for you to get over this. I am helping you for me to get over this."
"A thing that was supposed to be for yourself ends up for all of us?" It nodded. "Unfortunately, but that's better. I am one selfish creature." Hyuck cooed. "Aww, but you're really helpful, though. And you're such a tsundere~."
"What is that?"
"You pretend not to care about them but your actions speaks so otherwise."
"Well, I am not that."
"Ayeee~."
"Ugh. Farewell, humans."
