Chapter 1: The Road to become a knight

Third Person's POV: 

On the island of Paradis, four kingdoms lived there in peace. But, that peace and harmony were shattered by the arrival of the Legion of Darkness. Their leader known as the Destructor used its magic and severed the earth between all four kingdoms making them farther apart, and preventing them from contact with each other and from reaching the ocean. The Destructor not only had incredible power but also weapons and tools that neither kingdom heard of or seen before. Along with these new weapons, The Legion of Darkness consisted of war-ready abnormal creatures such as the undead, gargoyles, demons, ogres, and giants. All of them have one goal; To wipe the people of Paradis off the face of the earth.

But however, the kingdoms of Paradis weren't always four; they were once a single nation before the attack of the Legion of Darkness. The King during that time had two secret weapons against the Destructor. The first one was forgotten during that age but the second weapons were the guardian creatures that lived in Paradis. With their help, The King and his army began to fight back against the Legion of Darkness. But after the Great War, The King and three other royals eventually split and made their own kingdoms next to the guardian creature they fought beside and formed three walls around their kingdom and neighboring land after the first King's daughters.

But now in the year 850 because of the severed connection between the four kingdoms, the Legion of Darkness struck and began to attack the Ackerman Kingdom; the strongest of the four kingdoms, and destroyed Wall Maria which held the most land and most inhabitants of the walls. Luckily, those inhabitants were moved into the higher places of the kingdom in Wall Rose. But one person was determined on wiping out the Legion of Darkness completely. His name is Eren Jaeger and his goal is to become a knight of the Draco Corps and get revenge on the Destructor for his home in Wall Maria. This is his story.

Eren's POV:

As I continued to sleep, I began to have that strange nightmare again. "Come on! We'll stay under here!" I shouted, as I took the girl under a tree to stay dry in the rain. "Eren, how long do you think we'll be out here?" She asked, fearfully. The different noises around us start to scare me as she holds my hand tighter. "Don't worry, I'll protect you I promise." I replied, squeezing her hand. But for some reason, I began to fall over and hit the ground.

"Ow!" I said, as I opened my eyes and I saw on the floor. "Huh? That dream again?" I said, as I roll over. "I must have fallen off my bed. Why does this keep happening?" I thought, as I got up. "Wait a minute, What day is it?" I said, as I checked my calendar. "Wait, I remember now. Today's the day that I become a knight!" I said, as I quickly got out of my pajamas, got cleaned up, and ran downstairs to where my parents were. "Good morning Eren." Mom said. "So are you ready to become a knight?" Dad asked. "Yes, it's finally time." I said, as I sat down at the table and ate breakfast. "Slow down, honey." Mom said, as I finished. "I gotta be ready to go mom!" I said, placing my plate in the sink. "Hold on, you'll need this." Dad said, handing me a black jacket. "It's new so don't let it get ripped up." He said. "And also, you might need this." Dad added, throwing me something and I caught it and saw it was a claw on a necklace.

"A claw?" I said. "It's not just any claw, It's a dragon's claw." Dad said. "That claw is the key to opening that hidden grotto we found when we lived in wall maria." He added. "Oh right. I remember now. Thanks, Dad!" I said, placing it on my neck then I heard a knock. "Oh, that must be Armin." I said. "It's more than just him." Mom said, as I went to the door and see Armin and the rest of my friends. "Hey, Eren!" They said. "Hey, guys, what are you guys doing here?" I asked. "We were waiting for you outside my house." Armin replied. "But, you took too long so we came here." Jean replied. "Well, you all better get going. You want to be late, right?" Mom said. "Right! Come on guys!" I shouted. "We'll be there shortly." Dad added, as Mom closed the door.

"So guys, where are we supposed to go?" Sasha asked. "We're going to the castle." Jean replied. "Yeah, that's where we'll be dubbed knights." I added, as we stopped. "Ok listen, we need to get to the castle in Wall Sina." Annie said pointing to the castle. "And the only way to get there is by the ferry boat." Bertolt added, pointing to the path to the docks. "But remember, we're not using the normal ferries." Reiner said. "We're not?" I asked, confused. "Yeah, we're going to take the reserved ferry." Sasha said, excitedly. "Guys, you know that we're going to need those reserved tickets right?" I asked, worriedly. "That's why I got an envelope from the princess." Annie said, holding it. "Come on. Let's keep going." She said, as we kept walking to the loading dock.

"This is it guys. We're going to be knights." I said. "Yeah, I also think the princess will join us as knights." Marco said, checking a schedule. "Speaking of her, we heard that you and the princess have a history together." Annie said. "What?!" Jean said, shocked. "Well, mind telling us?" She asked. "You never told us about this, Eren." Sasha said. "Yeah. Come on tell us!" Connie added. "Ok, ok." I said. "When I was 9, my parents and I went to the scouts HQ and I met my brother Levi." I said. "Wait, Levi as in Levi Ackerman?!" Marco asked. "Yep, Levi Ackerman; one of the strongest men in the Draco corps and quite short for his age is in fact, my brother." I replied. "And I also got fond of him but he saw me as a little brother bother, his squad opened up to me quickly, especially Hanji." I added. "Ok, we get it so how did you meet the princess?" Jean asked. "Ok, I'll get there." I replied.

"So, after Levi and Hanji showed up, we went into the HQ, and the King, Queen, and Princess were there too." I said. "She was the same age as me and her parents came to address the Legion of Darkness to Erwin Smith and also gave a chance for the princess to have a friend since both of my parents are good friends with the king and queen." I added. "And the princess and I became friends but that night, she was kidnapped." I said. "Didn't you and her kill them?" Armin asked. "Yeah. I killed the first two while the princess killed the third one." I replied. "And you were nine when this happened?" Bertholdt asked, as I nodded. "Damn." Reiner said.

"So, do you think she's going to be a knight too?" Armin asked. "Well, it's her choice so I'm really sure not to mention we never talked after that time." I replied. "Still Eren, how come you never told us about this?" Jean asked. "Well, It's not that important." I replied. "Not important? What do you mean?! You got to be with the princess, Jaeger!" He shouted. "Whoa. Calm down, man." Marco said. "I'm completely calm!" Jean shouted. "Ok, then." Armin said. "You know, I do wonder what she's been doing all this time." I said. "Well, we'll find out once we get to the castle." Reiner said. "Yeah. You're right." I said, as I stared out the window and looked at the castle.

Princess POV:

Looking out the window, I spot one of the reserved ferries on the river. "I wonder when he'll show up." I thought.
