so, yeah naomi could only hope.

hope that, maybe somehow they could work everything out. they being her, zion, and nick.

and when she saw a girl with caramel skin, brown, beautiful hair flowing with every excited step she took, a smile that could blind someone who took the time to actually look at her, a girl who seemed... much more prettier than her run to nick smiling and jumping on him happily, yapping about how great her day was and nick placing eskimo kisses all over her neck and gripping her waist gently, was when she did give up hope.

naomi did not feel a single ounce of hope left for nick and her. but who was she fooling? she had chose zion. and she wanted to choose him. she should be happy.

but she wasn't.

naomi fakes a happy smile at nick and the girl who didn't seem to notice her presence.

"baby girl, im talking to someone." nick manages to say, still placing eskimo kisses all over 'baby girl.'

"dang, nick. who's this lucky girl?" naomi says, actually curious.

'baby girl' suddenly turns to naomi, realizing what she did in front of a fellow peer she thought she didn't even know.

"oh my gosh. i didn't even see you there, wow im horrible. i think i need a new description." 'baby girl' says, mostly talking to herself.

naomi just thought this girl must've lost a lot of brain cells. hmm.

nick places a cool hand over the girl's head soothingly, immediately calming the girl and sending her into a daze as his other hand travels to rest on her waist.

"my name's ashley, by the way. what's yours?" ashley holds a hand out, smiling nicely.

random girl from the internet as ashley
age: 16

shshdkfndid, ashley!? now i know why her doggy attitude reminded me of someone, but it looks like she didn't remember shit about me!

naomi shakes her hand strongly and maybe a little bit too harshly when she sees ashley wince and nick glare.

"the name's naomi." it's not nice to meet you again.

"oh, that's cool." ashley says, looking at her beat up black converse, not knowing what else to say.

nick pulls ashley into a loving embrace, almost as if he was rubbing it in naomi's face, "and this girl is my ashley." nick says, squishing her cheeks together.

ashley squirms in his hold, trying to slap away at his hold.

how could she just do that? naomi clears her throat, "nick, let's talk later. ashley, hope to see you around more." she leaves with a flip of her hair and the clicking of her boots that matched with the outfit she wore that day.

naomi's pov

so they're dating. nick and ashley, she means. break them up. omfg naomi, i can't belive you just said that. it's not like you want nick to be happy anyway. you're freaking stupid, just let them be. so i guess zion wasn't really enough. so i guess zion is enough. maybe zion isn't enough.

maybe zion will be enough.

naomi doesn't have time to think as she runs into the girl's bathroom, running into a stall and never coming out.

&

naomi knows she should not feel this way over some stupid shark boy who she met at the beginning of the school year. shes barely half way through trimester 1 of her senior year, yet all hell has seemed to break loose.

she cries silently, tissues glued to her face and headphones in to listen to boy with luv by BTS.

"oh m-m-my, oh m-m-my." naomi stutters through sobs.

then the bathroom door slams open and the heavy breathing of her bsf's body makes her way into the room.

naomi covers her mouth, willingly stopping all tears from falling. because when caitlynn sees tears, she kinda goes coo coo.

"is that a fellow ARMY i hear?" caitlynn says, sitting against naomi's stall.

naomi covers her mouth with tissue and purposely makes her voice sound high, "not really. it's just a freaking catchy awesome song?"

this shit gonna take a while.

ashley's pov

"she totally doesn't like me." ashley says sadly, moping along next to nick.

"ash, you don't even know that. sure she squeezed your hand a little too hard, but she's like that." nick holds ashley's hand while walking.

"i could already hear inside her head, she was probably thinking i lost some brain cells. let's be honest, im kinda stupid."

nick dramatically falls to the floor, earning stares from the students around them.

"um, nick get up..!" ashley says worriedly, scared of others judging her and nick.

"not until you say otherwise." nick says, holding ashley's wrist in a tight grip.

"you're dumb! why would i say something that's not true."

nick then goes limp, hold still stronger than ever on ashley.

"ok fine. um, im the best student in the class and the all i will say!" ashley screeches, determined to just get nick off the floor.

nick smiles and picks up ashley from behind, "my smart baby girl."

with adoration clear in his face, nick then turns to make contact with all of his 'ex-friends.'

austin, edwin, brandon, caitlynn, alyssa, naomi, zion, and some other girl?

what's up with them?

nick stops his bear hug and sets ashley on the floor. he then makes a sign towards the group ahead and ashley looks.

"you'll be fine, nick. if you want, i'll even stay right by your side."

nick smiles gratefully and pinches ashley's waist, "let's go then."

nick felt like the luckiest man on the planet, with a beautiful girl that he could call his. the one that saw past his bad boy act, and accepted him with open arms. the naive girl he had come to love just within a month who was ready to face what had caused him his downfall head-on. what a life saver she was, and a life saver she shall always be.
