-Ryan's Pov (17 years old)-
I'm sick of this, I'm sick of people telling me what to do. I'm sick of my parents not caring. I'm leaving, that's the only thing that will help me. My parents are asleep. Its the only chance I have right now, I pick up my backpack and find my dad's wallet laying on the coffee table. I pull out a wad of cash of move towards the door. "Ryan?" Mom, I turned around. "Where are you going so late at night?" She asked,
"I need to pick up something for um, school." I lied,
"Why can't you do it in the morning? It's Saturday."
"I dunno, I can't stop thinking about it." I replied,
"Why are you bringing a backpack to pick something up?" She kept asking questions,
"I need something to put it in."
"What are you picking up?"
"Books for class. Now can I go?" She crossed her arms, "What?" She shook her head,
"Fine, but be quick." She said, I let out a sigh of relief. I opened the door and walked out to my car. I put the key in the ignition and pulled out of the driveway. My hands were shaking slightly, was this really what I wanted? Yes, yes it is. Where would I go, I can't get a hotel in here because I'm so young. D*mn you Vegas and your gambling and alcohol. There has to be somewhere I can go around here. I can't loose my money for gas but I can't stay around here. Maybe I should have made a plan before I decided to run away. That would help a lot, I drove out of the city and found myself in the desert far from the city traffic.
-24 years old-
I can't continue living like this. I made a mistake, I shouldn't have run. I told myself for what seems like the thousandth time. I live in my car that broke down a few years ago and I haven't been able to fix. Sometimes I had gone days without eating. I've tried to get a job but no one would accept me either because I didn't meet the standards or it was because I didn't finish high school. All I do to make money is play my guitar on the streets hoping for tips. I sighed and dragged and continued to strum at the stings and tried singing some of the more popular songs to gain attention. Once I realized no one was interested in my singing, I stopped and walked down the Vegas strip with my guitar slung on my side. The crowd increased the more I moved inside, I was pushed around by people. I emerged in one piece on the other side of the crowd and walked towards the desert were the little red car was barely visible. A large uhaul was abandoned on the side of the road, it was deserted (Get it because it's in a desert ahaha) I went around the back and opened the door. Maybe I could find something in here to sell. There were a lot of boxes that were the same sizes. I looked around before climbing into the back. I opened the top of one of the boxes and was stunned by the sight. Bags of marijuana stacked neatly on top of each other in the box. Under those were a white powder in similar bags filled to the seal. I was about to step out of the back until I heard someone talking. "I know! But I can't just go to some mechanic if they found it this operation would fall just like that." He said, I panicked. I noticed a hollow area in the back. I climbed around the boxes hiding behind the boxes stacked high. "I can't just kill him, then that would lead up to it too. Whatever I should get there tonight. Yes I know. Ok. I'll see you soon." The door closed slightly. "Dallon lets go!" The man yelled, the door closed completely, leaving me in the dark. Sh*t what am I suppose to do now. The truck began moving and the boxes swayed back and fourth. After an hour of sitting in the dark and the truck stopped moving again and the engine shut down. The door slid open again and my eyes adjusted to the light once again. "It's all here. Can I have our money please."
"You will after you take it all out." A raspy voice said, sh*t, sh*t, sh*t they'll find me. I clearly just found some illegal drug trade. I could very well die today, the two boys started to carry boxes out two at a time.
