-Brendon's pov 5 years old-

"You look so handsome for your first day Brendon." My mother smiled and hugged me. I tried to push her off of me, kids flooded into the school and I didn't want to be known as the kid who made into class last. She took pictures with her little camera and hugged me again.
"Mom I gotta go." I whined,
"Okay, have a good day honey." She said, I ran for the doors and for my class. I stuffed my bad in my little cubby and sat at my desk. A girl was next to me colouring a little picture on a piece of paper, the scratchy marks represented a dog. She noticed I was watching and slid her paper away from my sight. I overheard a group of boys and a girl across the table talking to themselves about the second graders.

"I heard the second graders uhm, they beat us up!" One boy said,
  "They're so scary." Another said,
"I bet my dad could beat them up!" The one girl said, then they went onto bickering on whos dad was the coolest.

"Alright everyone!" The teacher walked in. "How is everyone doing today?" All the kids said something different thus creating a jumbled mess of words. "Great. Now I need to check role when you hear your name please say here." She went through the list of names. "Great everyone's here." The consisted of drawing random pictures and papers for parents being put in our folders. We drew out the first few letters of the alphabet and ate lunch. At lunch, they put us in rows and I sat next to people I didn't know. Once we were released to recess and outside there were second graders stomping around the dirt yelling at the kids in my grade and laughing as they ran off. I climbed up the steps to go down the slide, but at the top of the slide three second graders stood laughing as they forcefully pushed a scared kid down the slide. I went to turn around but a third grader blocked my exit.
"Oh my god! Look how big his head is!" One of the boys said, they laughed. "Push him down head first!" The kid behind me said with a lisps. The second graders cheered him. They grabbed me and pushed me with my head going down. As I went down, the hot metal burning my hands and skidded down my arms. At the bottom I toppled and rolled over, gravel scraping my skin and tearing my jeans on my knees. One of the kids slid down and pointed and laughed at me. I stood up and looked at my jeans. My small hands clenched a fist and swung around my body colliding with the boy's face. He cried out in pain and ran to tattle to a teacher.

-Present time-

Patrick's house was big. Really big. Eight bedrooms all with their own bathroom and an extra bathroom in the basement. A long sparkling pool stretched out in the sea of a vibrant green grass. The tall house glittered in the neighborhood. Everything was well kept and placed a specific way, and that kitchen. Don't get me started on how beautiful the kitchen is. Since there was plenty of rooms, Ryan and I were separate. I'm not upset about it, then again I could share a room with him. Jon and Spencer had their own room as well. Patrick's room was the largest and most elegant feature of the home. It was way better than the home than the drug company gave Dallon and I. Spencer and Patrick had gone upstairs to work on some special cases while Ryan, Jon, and I were left downstairs. Patrick had mentioned that his boyfriend would be home soon. Jon was laying on the couch with his legs over the arm rest. He had his laptop on his chest and he would randomly laugh and go into a blank stare. Ryan had been alone in the basement all day. He was genuinely starting to worry me more than I worry about Jon's sanity. Maybe I should check on him? What if he's weirded out about that kiss still? I don't want to scare him off. As I was looming on the thoughts I heard the basement door open. I snapped my head to look over. Ryan emerged his face pale and dark circles under his eyes. He had glanced at me before going up a set of stairs and disappearing from my line of sight beyond the hallway. Jon spoke,
"Oooo, Brendon's staring at Ryan. Someone's got a cruuush." He laughed to himself.
"I do not. I don't want anything to do with him." I shook my head, "I just want this to be over so I can have a normal life in like Colorado or somethin'."
