[#3]Lame Joke

Lance was taken aback by the power of the engine that just crossed him, leaving a trail of smoke to accompany the burning wheel tracks. He liked it. Not the fact that he almost got into an accident, but the thought of riding  so fearlessly- devoid of any worries. He felt adrenaline course through the synapses of his neurons. A song which sent the feeling of exhilaration through all who heard the beat. The words of which would only do justice to the features who crossed him, leaving him baffled.

He wanted to start creating the rhythm already, so he didn't spend anymore time dilly-dallying on his way back. Marie was confused to see him back so soon. The male usually spent a sweet eternity on such trips of his, under the pretext that he was a drummer from hell. Kiddish yea, but somehow, they could never complain since his sticks were always on point.

"Hey! Lance! What sent you running back so early? Marie shouted into his small room, where the boy practically lived when he made music. Yknow, he was one of the best lyricists out there and he gave the best beats. How sad that he didnt sing, he would be a musical prodigy then but oh well.

"I got stuff to write!" He shouted back in the highest volume he could muster, seeing that Marie was somewhat hard of hearing.

Marie was confused, what gave him the idea to come home so soon and write? She wanted to see what had happened but then remembered the phone call from before.

"Kid! Silvia called up earlier! She wants to meet you in an hour and she cut the line after saying that!"

"STOP SHOUTING IN THIS HUMBLE HOUSEHOLD MARIETTA JONES!"

"YOU ARE SHOUTING TOO JACOB HEINS"

"IM TRYNA CONCENTRATE HERE BITCH"

"SO AM I YOU SON OF A KETCHUP!"

All started to laugh at the funny banter between the couple. They snickered all they long yet would seek solace only in each other's embrace. They legit had eyes only for each other and no one could separate people who were not only bonded by love, but also mutual trust and respect. You can't really love without respect and trust yknow. That's fancying the idea of love.

Lance felt his mood lighting up further if that was even possible. He hadn't really talked to his girlfriend for a month now and he missed her laughter and touch.

Lance got off his high chair and put on his black boat-neck tee, pairing it with distressed grey jeans and a rosary-waist chain. He was doing his eyes pretty with black liner and Marie was smiling sadly at the youngers enthusiasm. Only if he knew...

"I'm leaving for a while! Don't call me until I do and don't kill each other while I'm gone! Doodles fam~" he yelled and ran out of their garage.

He was waiting at the bus stop for the bus to the town square- theireeting place and once he got on, every second seemed to take an hour to pass. Oh how warm it would be with Silvia snug in his arms, how satisfying it would be to run his fingers through her messy green hair. How pretty she would look when he would lay her on the mattress as she would be spoken numerous words of adoration in her ears as he would massageher.

Soon enough, his stop arrived so he put a coin into the pay-collector and got off the twelve wheeled public vehicle. There she was, standing with another man, taller than him, with a bold countenance. A pang of fear curse through his nerves when he saw her giggle when he planted a chaste kiss on her cheek.

Must be her friend or someone, yea, no need to worry, or was it?

Silvia noticed him from afar and he could see her joyful demeanour seep away. He wasn't feeling good about this meeting anymore.

He walked to them and his legs almost became jelly when he saw how their fingers were intertwined so perfectly.

"H-hey Silvia... How you been these days?"

"Hoooo? Don't talk as if you liked and care for her~ little hypocrite"

Silvia's eyes widened upon hearing the hurtful words spewing from the male's mouth.

"I thought we agreed to not being up my past here!" Silvia whispered in the man's ears, but the male was not having it.

"She is here to tell you that she won't put up with an abusive asshole like you anymore and if you come to threaten wherever, I'll make sure you don't live further to see another day."

All this while, he had been silent as the taller male threatened him but the last words shook him back to reality. Abusive? He had never been abusive? He was the one who was overprotective of her and never spoke rudely?

"The hell are you talkin about? I've never been abusive! In fact I saved her from such a toxic relation back in the day and hence she came to me further! Silvia how could you lie about this?!"

The girl was scared now. The ever calm look in her ex-boyfriend's eyes was now replaced by a look of pure sorrow and betrayal. Somewhere she felt guilty of having lied but only when he grabbed Lance's collar and spat at his shoes as a show of superiority, did she realise that her plan had gone awfully wrong.

All those days when she slept with Ezekiel, she would falsely weep of how much he would abuse her, how Lance would swear at her when she would do anything wrong. She loved people pitying her, he was an attention whore and she loved when the burly male showered her with promises of security and love. Ezekiel was from a rich background. Father was a model and mother was a travel journalist. Ah, how hard money could entice, force people to fabricate the emotion of love just to get a taste.

"Silvia... you could have told me that you fell out of love... Why would you lie to the one you love?"

Ezekiel jeered. "She never loved you kid"

"But didn't she love you?"

"How good at manipulating people. All these hard rock dudes are nothing but lying factors!" He spoke venomously. That did it for Lance. He would never let people disrespect music. Of any kind. Especially not the genre he had so much loved.

"Silvia... it pains me to see how much I failed in giving you the love you wanted and the wealthy pleasures I denied you. I won't hold you in contempt, I know people go through great lengths to gain what they want. Please tell him the truth when you have the heart to... love can't be based on lies." He spoke out somberly.

Ezekiel was confused. All this while, he had done so much to provoke the shorter male and to see for himself what vermin he supposedly was, but whenever he would call the female's name, the tone held nothing but love and sorrow. He knew what an abusive man could do. His brother was a violent man. But he couldn't see any ounce of fiery in the male's orbs.
But before he could confirm his doubts further, he saw drops of tears pooling in the male's eyes and before he could realise, Lance took her hands in his own, kissed her wrists one last time and left with a simple yet complex goodbye.

"What are you doing here young boy?"

Lance looked up with his puffy eyes to see a girl taller than him, holding an umbrella over him, to share him from the heavy pellets of rainwater. She was in a black tank top, wearing military print lose pants that pooled slightly around her waist. Her hair was like one of those cool military guys, except it was blue in colour. Behind her, he saw the all to familiar motorbike that he had been entranced by earlier in the day, when he was still in a cheery spirit.

"Thinking why I let them down."

"Wanna think so on a bike-back? Helps ease the pain yknow?"

"We don't even know each other."

"Well you like my bike, I like your songs, pretty known strangers yea?"

"Thanks fam, you help me get over a lame joke of a day."

"Anytime, buddy"
And that marked the birth of a clear friendship, one where interference was key, mutual respect was the basis, and they wouldn't lie.
