"Oh my God Alice just get in your stupid car and go to the stupid smoothie place." My long term best friend and neighbor Carson snaps at me. I groan at her comment and flop down on the bed. I am not "excited" persay about working at Smoothie Universe. It seems like it will be boring, and only weird health nuts will come in.
"Why can't I just work at the arts and crafts center?" I whine.
"Because you won't get paid." She shoots back sitting down criss cross on my bed.
"I could give piano lessons." I suggest in a whiny voice pulling my curly blond hair to my shoulders.
"Hey, I can play Fearless by Taylor Swift." I scoff jokingly.
"Wow slow down Andrew Lloyd Webber." Carson scoffs.
"Shut up..." I groan as I sit up. I slowly stand up and brush my clothes off, for no reason because there wasn't anything on my clothes in the first place.
I see myself in the mirror and want to gag. My appearance has always disgusted me. My blond hair falls in curls at my shoulders. The curls get in my way and no one likes them in the first place. I am way to skinny and short. I'm only 5'6, seventh graders are taller than me. I just looked and felt hideous. I slowly pried my eyes away from the mirror and pulled on black tights and a black t-shirt.
"I already look awful." I moan to Carson.
"Good lord, stop your griping and put on the darn apron." She throws the pink Smoothie Universe apron at me. I gave the apron a look of disgust, only to get a look of irritation from Carson. I groan and slip it on.
"Okay, I lied before. NOW I look awful." I spit as I pull my curls into a ponytail.
"Great, now get in the car." Carson says as she grabs my keys and my hand. She leads me down the stairs and outside to my car all in two or three swift movements. I quickly open the car door and get in, slamming the blue door of the car as I sit in the seat. I take a deep breath as I slip my keys in the ignition. I slowly pull out of my carefully paved house.
Off to my doom.
