"Daddy, I'm pregnant."

My whole body freezes. Her mouth is moving, but nothing she's saying registers at all. The grip I have on Harry's hand tightens until his face contorts from the pain. This can't be happening. She's only sixteen. She shouldn't even be having sex, let alone getting pregnant. I thought we taught her better than this.

"Lou." Harry gets my attention softly. How he's staying so level headed right now is something I can't comprehend. "Babe, breathe."

My eyebrows furrow as my head whips towards him. "Breathe?! Fucking breathe?! How on earth do you expect me to do that?!" I look back at my daughter but then my eyes move to the boy sitting next to her. "You!" I shout. "What the fuck did you do?!"

His eyes widen as I stand up but Harry quickly pulls me back down and wraps his arms around me. "Okay, Kayds, you and Jake go upstairs."

"What?!" I scream. "That's what got them into this fucking mess! They are not going upstairs alone!"

"Fair enough. Outside then."

The two teenagers scramble up from the couch and quickly make their way out the door. As it shuts behind them, I can feel my heart pounding inside my chest. Kayden is pregnant. My little baby with Harry's curls and bright green eyes, is pregnant. This can't be real. Please let this be some sort of sick joke.

"Honey, I get that it's a shock but you need to try to calm down."

I glare at my husband and pull myself from his grip. "How in the world do you expect me to calm down?! She's sixteen, Harold! Sixteen!"

He cowers slightly from my tone. "I know, but what do you expect us to do about it now? She's already pregnant."

I can't sit here anymore. I can't be in this house. The need to flee is overwhelming and within seconds, I'm grabbing my keys and heading out the front door – ignoring the calls of my name. I pass Kayden and Jacob on the porch. She's sitting next to him, crying softly into his shoulder as he tries to comfort her. The sight sends a pang into my chest but I know staying here right now won't do anything good for anyone. So, I get in my car and drive to the first place I can think of.

PULLING UP TO ZAYN'S building, I slam my car into park and get out - storming into the building. The secretary looks as if she's about to stop me, but the look I give her makes her sit back down in her seat and keep her mouth shut. I hit the button for the elevator then quickly decide it's taking too long and go for the stairs. By the time that I'm walking into my best friend's office, he's just getting off the phone.

"Thanks for the warning. Yeah, he just walked in." Fucking Harry. He hangs up the phone and immediately gets into a defensive stance. "Louis. I know you're mad."

"Mad?!" I shriek. "Mad was finding out your son is dating my daughter. I'm lightyears past mad! He fucking knocked her up, Zayn!"

He winces. "I know. They told me."

"They told you?! And this wasn't information you thought I needed to know?!"

"Kayden wanted to tell you herself. She begged me not to say anything."

I run my fingers through my hair and tug in frustration. "How long?"

"What?"

"How long?! How long have you known?!"

He shakes his head. "They just told me last night. She said she was going to tell you and H this afternoon."

"And I take it that's who you were just on the phone with?"

A nod from him confirms I'm correct. "He's just worried about you."

I groan loudly. "How in the world aren't either of you freaking out right now?! They can't have a child. They are children for Christ sake."

Zayn hesitantly walks around his desk and takes a step towards me. "We just know that there isn't much we can do about it right now. All we can do is give Kayden and Jacob their options and take it from there."

"No. We give Kayden her options. Jacob has no say in whatever the fuck she chooses."

"Lou, don't be like that. You know Jake isn't a bad kid."

I narrow my eyes on him. "That argument was a lot stronger when he hadn't screwed my daughter. Your god daughter, in case you've forgotten."

"Of course, I haven't." He opens a window and takes out a pack of cigarettes, handing me one. "Trust me, I laid into Jake last night after Kayds left. He knows this is serious."

I light the stick and inhale deeply. "Good. He should. They're still in high school. How could they be so daft?"

"From what he told me, the condom broke."

Cringing, I want to put my fingers in my ears and scream to block out the noise. "Okay, enough. I don't need to hear about this shit. It's bad enough I have to know my innocent little girl had sex, let alone what happened during it."

A small chuckle bubbles out of his mouth. "Fair enough." We both smoke quietly, which is probably the worst thing for me with my mind stirring like this. It's completely silent until Zayn speaks again. "You should go home and talk to Harry. He said you snapped at him."

I roll my eyes. "Damn right I snapped at him. Our daughter tells me she's pregnant and he tells me to breathe, like it's not a big deal or summat."

"Do you think maybe he was only holding his composure for Kayden's sake?"

To be honest, his reasoning for it was never something I considered. Ever since he met Kayden twelve years ago, he's always been protective of her. She went on tour with him for a couple weeks when she was nine. A pap managed to get backstage and tried to corner her to ask questions. Harry shattered the man's camera. Pictures of him with his face the deepest red I've ever seen it circulated in the media for months.

"I don't know. Maybe."

My best friend smiles sadly. "She's really scared, Lou."

"She should be." I mumble. When I can feel the heat from the cigarette start to hit my fingers, I put it out and toss it out the window. "Fucking hell. How did this happen?" As he opens his mouth to speak, I cut him off. "Don't you dare answer that." He snickers but stays quiet.

WHEN I GET BACK home, Kayden and Jacob are sitting at the island in the kitchen while Harry cooks. I drop my keys on the table loudly, making all heads whip towards me. However, the only eyes I can focus on are those of my husband. Like he always could, he senses exactly what I need.

"Kayden, you and Jake go in the living room."

"But you told us not to leave your sight." She retorts.

He glances her direction and the look he gives her has the two of them retreating to the other room without another word. Once they're gone, he walks towards me quickly – wrapping me in his arms just as the first tear falls. All I can do is sob into his chest as he rubs my back.

"Shh, babe. It's okay."

"It's not." I murmur. "None of this is okay. She's just a kid. She has so much life ahead of her."

He places soft kisses into my hair. "This doesn't change that. Yeah, things may be more difficult for her if she chooses to keep the baby, but she takes after you."

"You mean having by having a child you're in no way prepared for? Getting pregnant by accident?"

"No, love." He pulls me away to look deep in my eyes. "I mean she's strong. She gets that strength from you."

I reach up to wipe at my tear soaked cheeks. "Oh yeah, I look real strong right now."

Harry smiles and places his lips on my forehead. "My Superman." He whispers against my skin.

Letting out a shaky breath, I close my eyes. "What do we do now?"

He tightens his grip around me, as if he's afraid I'll run away again. "Now, we go talk to our daughter."
