Chapter 4

"I dont know what happen he went mad so i punched him i shouldn't have punched him im sorry" i said crying
"Hey calm down it wasn't your fault it was self protection besides he deserved it" Derek said hugging me.
Right after the whole drama fiasco Derek took me to the nurses office.
"Well honey your gonna be fine just but some ice on the cheek ok y'all can go now" the nurse said in a southern accent she was so sweet she was really old and would give everybody lollipops .
We thanked her and went outside in the hallway i was making myself to my class when Derek called me.
"Callie wait"
"Yeah whats up"
"I umm.... " he said he was totally babbling he only does that when he's nerves .
"Derek just say it i have class you know" i said in frustration.
"You know what just forget it. Can i have my keys back ?" he said angrily
"What the hell what did i do to you? Why are you getting mad at me?"i responded back.
"Just give me my damn keys ok i don't even know why i become best friend with you, you wont even hear what i have to say" i didn't have time to give it to him he just took them from my hand and stared walking outside.
Something broke inside of me it was my heart Derek never hurt me like that i don't even know what i do wrong.

It was maybe during 4th grade we where at recess i was eating my peanut butter and jelly sandwich at a hollow tree no one ever came there it was sort of my hiding place when i was feelings sad.

I ben crying the whole time as you see i was never the girl who had a lot friends but just an ordinary girl who was shy at mostly everything. My classmates used to teased me because i had pigtails and glasses that day they told me i was nothing but piece of garbage in the corner of the room.

I was crying so hard my nose was running so bad that i looked like mess thats when Derek came into view.
"Hi I'm Derek" he said extending his hand.
I looked at his hand thinking it was i joke but i shook it either way.
"Hi I'm Callie" i murmured .
"Nice to meet you Halley" he said giving me a half smile.
Even thought he said my name wrong there was something in his presence that made me feel relaxed .
"Its Callie not Halley " i said.
He sat right next to me and gave me a napkin.
"Sorry you should really speak louder Callie such a shame to waste that beautiful voice"he said blushing.

I wiped my face and felt happy that he complement me.
"Want a brownie my mommy made them so i can share with my friends" i said offering him and putting the bag in front him.

His face light up and nodded his chubby face up and down
"So this means I'm your friend since your sharing your brownies with me" he asked eagerly.

I felt happy for once in my elementary life someone wanted to be my friend like actually my friend and i couldn't refuse.
"Your not my friend your my best friend promise " i said holding my pinkie
"I promise" he said locking his pinkie with mine.
From that day on we did everything together and we also carved our names on the very tree we met with a infinity sign across.

That day that very significant tree became more important to me than any other place in the whole world because thats where i meet my best friend now that wasn't my place it was our place where we told it each others secrets and our problems.

After Derek left i only wanted to go to one place so i got out of school and started running to the elementary school .
Once i got there i climbed the fence and ran to the tree once i got there my knees couldn't held no more and crashed to the ground i didn't know i was crying until one tear fell on my palm .
Did i just lost my best friend?
What did i do wrong?

I traced with my index finger his name on the tree.
Why do you always have to be so difficult?
I didnt know what to do next so took out my phone and stared texting
"CAN YOU COME GET ME PLEASE?!?!" I hit send.
After what seem like an eternity the car honked and i hopped in.

"What happen Callie?"
