After we toiled through the desolate Blasted Lands, defeating beasts and creatures along the way, we finally made it to the previously thought dormant Dark Portal.
It was truly a sight to behold.
Around the gate, there were alliance and horde in a fearsome battle, and the ground beneath their feet was shattered red with the blood of allies and enemies. But at the heart of it all was the Dark Portal, glowing ominously and ready to be entered once more by the mortals of this world.
Away from all the battle, Ali spotted an injured orc warrior.
“Do not worry my friend, I will help you.” I said calmly to him as I ran towards the him.
“Son! Don’t worry about him! Leave and fight the battle!”
I ignored his attempts of war and continued to talk with the orc as I attempted to heal him.
“Take...my...sword...to...Dar’toon...”
He had fallen to the battle.
“Ali! Take this hero back to the camp! I’ll report to Warlord Dar’toon.”
“Be sure to wait for me and your dad Goliais! He seems a bit busy with these humans though!”
“Dar’toon, I have come with a message of grief. One of our finest warriors has fallen.”
“Then you shall take his place.”
“Pardon warlord?”
“You shall take his place and go through the Dark Portal yourself. I have faith in you. None other of my platoon would do such a thing as report that one of our own has fallen.”
In shock of having such an important role in this war, there was only one thing I could say. “I accept”
