Scene 1

A week before present

Jax Fisher walked out of Wellington High, muttering to himself, mostly about the day's lectures.

"The complementary function is the solution to the homogeneous differential equation... Bacteria undergo conjugation by the formation of a cytoplasmic mating bridge..." He had already earned a couple weird glances from the students walking in the opposite direction.

"Weirdo" one of them whispered into his right ear. However, he never did care about what others said. For he lived in his own bubble.

He made a beeline for the coffee shop next to the school, where he usually spent anywhere from two to five hours everyday. He did his homework there, usually at twice the speed a normal student would. In between he would pause and take a good look around the environment, observing those from neighbouring Goldwind High with envy.

He had set his sights on the school since he was in middle school. The name itself screamed prestige, affluence and elitism. He wanted to be a part of it, and he wanted to feed into the upper echelons of education.

He wanted to feel smart.

Suddenly, his watch beeped three times in succession and he almost robotically stood up and walked toward the nearby toilet, leaving behind his notes and his half finished Java Chip drink on the table. He gave three sharp knocks on a door two steps away from the toilet and as if on cue, it opened. He stepped into the small space which contained the electrical riser. He stomped his feet twice and was whisked away onto the field right behind Goldwind High.

In the middle of the field was a clock tower, white as snow and constructed with much attention to detail. He walked toward the right side of it before taking out a small folded piece of paper from his pants pocket. It was the test script of his deskmate, Tricia, who had outdone everyone else in class in that Biology test.

He tore off the portion of the test paper where the teacher had inscribed the marks (45 out of 70) and clasped it in his palm. He then took out the exact pen which he used in that test and pricked himself until a single drop of blood stained the paper.

"Oh, Bell Curve God, please bless me with an A1 in the upcoming examinations. And to outdo Tricia," he said softly. As soon as he finished talking, the piece of paper disappeared and out plopped a brain from one of the crevices of the tower.

"Have a brain," came a soothing, male voice that Jax couldn't discern the origins of. "Remember to chew before swallowing." Jax immediately shoved it inside his mouth and gnawed on it as he would a tapioca pearl. After returning to the coffee shop he gulped down his Java Chip drink and headed back to Wellington High. In the distance, a lady stood and watched.

Scene 2

Jefferson Brown's Apartment

A month before present

"Is it me or is high school a fucking depressing couple of years with so much consistent work to do? Jesus, I cannot even get a fucking breather these days like my goodness I just wanna kill myself sometimes," Jefferson ranted to his girlfriend, Jillian.

"Oh, don't worry, I feel the exact same way, and then some. I have never passed a single test the whole year like seriously I think we are both just dumb and should like just drop out," Jillian replied while rolling her eyes. She placed her arm on Jefferson's shoulder.

"Wanna cuddle?" she playfully whispered in Jefferson's ear. Jefferson sighed longingly and nodded. The couple started to caress each other, starting with hugging and kissing before quickly progressing to the stage of removing each other's clothes.

"Wanna do it?" Jefferson quickly offered as the couple started to French Kiss each other. Jillian moaned as they got into position. Jefferson smiled and mouthed, "No protection, let's do it."

It took all of 11 minutes for Jefferson and Jillian's moods to change.

"Oh fucking shitballs that was literally the best thing that has happened ever since this fucking year started," Jefferson half moaned and half whispered. Jillian stuck out her tongue to lick his cheek.

"Oh yes dear, yes indeed. Fuck, I don't want this moment to end," Jillian sighed as she started to get up from the bed.

The couple quickly got dressed and started to get to their homework, their mood a complete half-turn away from just 5 minutes before.

Scene 3

Hannah Broxton was a 21 year old college student who had started to study law in a foreign country. She had always been a bright girl, being in an elite school, as part of a gifted programme that only the top 5% of her home country could get into. However ever since she left her home country, her life turned upside down and no one could recognise her from her past self.

One morning, she was on a cross country train alone. After she was served breakfast, she picked up a novel from the complimentary bookshelf and started to read. Just as she was about to get engrossed in it, she caught sight of a dashing man across her, from above the top of the book. She slowly put it down and got a better look.

"Why, hello there cherry pie, what's up?" said the man who was also looking intently at her. He had a chiseled jawline, clean shaven chin and brilliant ash grey hair, but he looked like he was in his 20s as well.

"You look amazing yourself too, wanna talk?" Hannah replied in a faux musky, sensual voice. The man immediately sat down next to Hannah and they started to kiss.

"Hey, where are you going anyway?" the man asked. Hannah replied, "The next stop, Plasterville."

"Well, I could follow you, grab a pint, smoke a little, how's that sound?" Hannah nodded and smiled.

Over the next two hours, Hannah and the man, who introduced himself as Jack Samuels, had drinks and weed and they ended up in an alleyway.

"How ya feeling?" Jack asked.

"I feel like we should do something more," Hannah replied, coaxing the obvious reply.

"Sex. Definitely sex," Jack replied as he started to take off his clothes. Hannah smiled and did likewise. Just then, she started to feel faint.

"Wh-what's happening?" she asked in a state of flurry and drunkenness. Jack did nothing but smiled. The next thing Hannah knew, her vision started to fade as two muscular figures approached.
